PostEx v0.5.0a1 introduces the foundations of Conference Intelligence: year-specific, source-grounded Conference Packs that keep organizer requirements separate from PostEx design recommendations.

Highlights

  • Seven schema-validated 2026 Conference Packs: CVPR, AACR, ASCO, ESMO, RSNA, AHA Scientific Sessions, and ESC Congress
  • Explicit Official Requirement, Official Recommendation, and PostEx Recommendation origins
  • Source-bound provenance, verification status, named gaps, and rights records
  • Declarative conference preflight rule model and validator interface
  • Generic Conference Pack → Palette DNA/renderer adapter with no conference-specific renderer branches
  • Rights-safe GitHub Social Preview and reusable launch animation

Every pack includes Conference Safe, Balanced Fusion, and Visual Signature modes. No organizer logo or official template is bundled, and no endorsement is implied.

Trust boundary

  • Official rules require a source in the same annual edition.
  • Unknown public requirements remain unknown.
  • Exact PostEx fallback canvases never overwrite unspecified official geometry.
  • The renderer consumes only generic canvas, theme, component, and layout tokens.

Install

pip install postex-0.5.0a1-py3-none-any.whl

The wheel includes the conference registry, schemas, templates, and built-in Palette DNA catalog. SHA-256 checksums are attached.

Verification

  • PR: #2
  • CI: 48 tests and 18 subtests on Python 3.10 and 3.12
  • Repository consistency audit, Ruff, strict mypy, and package smoke test passed

See full release notes and the Conference Intelligence architecture.

Alpha boundary: conference-native arbitrary PPTX geometry, Research Archetypes, integrated Trusted Export reports, CLI catalog commands, and the remaining 30-pack catalog are tracked in TASKS.md.

PostEx 0.3.0a2 — Expanded Palette Library

PostEx 0.3.0a2 — Expanded Built-in Palette Library

This prerelease expands and reorganizes the built-in library to 154 poster palettes:

  • 50 Chinese university emblem cards following the 2026 ShanghaiRanking Chinese Universities Ranking;
  • 50 foreign university emblem cards selected from the 2026–2027 U.S. News Best Global Universities ranking;
  • 35 authorized Genshin character cards, with five characters from each of seven regions;
  • 19 Chinese city cards rebuilt as complete, bright photographic frames without neural background removal.

The display order is now Chinese universities, foreign universities, Genshin characters, and Chinese cities. City palette extraction rejects near-black and near-white pixels and weights chromatic pixels to avoid the dark, muddy palettes in the first alpha.

The release also adds enlarged HUST and Tsinghua examples that place the full emblem beside six semantic color roles, hex values, and usage ratios.

postex palette-catalog --show-blockers audits all 154 entries. Third-party artwork remains subject to assets/palettes/rights.yaml and is not relicensed under Apache-2.0.

PostEx 0.3.0a1 — Built-in Palette Library

This prerelease adds a browsable, source-grounded library of 104 poster palettes:

  • 19 Chinese city landmark cards using reusable public-domain or Creative Commons photographs;
  • 50 university emblem cards following the 2026 ShanghaiRanking Chinese Universities Ranking;
  • 35 authorized Genshin character cards, with five characters from each of Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, Sumeru, Fontaine, Natlan, and Nod-Krai.

Every card includes transparent source art, a six-role palette, color ratios, provenance, and redistribution-rights metadata. postex palette-catalog --show-blockers audits the full selection and reports 104 release-ready entries with zero blockers.

Release assets include the Python wheel and sdist plus a standalone palette archive and its SHA-256 checksum. The standalone archive contains all cutouts, extracted palette JSON, 900×1240 WebP cards, collection previews, source receipts, attribution, and a per-file hash manifest.

Third-party artwork remains subject to the rights recorded in assets/palettes/rights.yaml and is not relicensed under Apache-2.0.

PostEx v0.2.0a2 — rights-safe Palette Fusion rendering

PostEx v0.2.0a2 replaces the former real-paper golden example with AURORA-12, a fully fictional CC0 manuscript and evaluation fixture. It demonstrates how one approved evidence plan can support three coherent visual identities without changing scientific claims.

Highlights

  • Five-page AURORA-12 synthetic manuscript with stable evidence IDs and no DOI, participant, institution, external dataset, or real author.
  • Three editable A0 posters: Academic Safe, user-image Balanced Fusion, and a no-green Paimon-inspired cape-gradient Visual Signature.
  • Palette roles, component behavior, and stepped header gradients rendered through the shared Python core and native editable PowerPoint objects.
  • Separate scientific-color unlock for editable SVG figure variants; numbers, labels, geometry, and evidence links remain unchanged.
  • Digest-bound approvals for hero, deletion, palette, structure, and scientific-color changes.
  • Portable render and extraction reports without machine-specific absolute paths.
  • Editable logo placeholder retained in all three posters.

Validation

  • All unit, contract, repository, schema, and evaluation checks pass.
  • All three PPTX files pass independent overflow checks.
  • All three PDF/PNG exports pass A0 geometry, evidence, branding, approval, and print preflight.
  • The Paimon-inspired palette and figure variant contain no green role or gradient stop.

Boundaries

  • The three posters share the approved Visual Journey structure; not every structural direction or template family is production-renderable yet.
  • LibreOffice is the reproducible PDF-export fallback used for committed examples. PowerPoint remains preferred where available.
  • The user-supplied image and HoYoverse reference images are not redistributed. Only abstract palette values and provenance records are included.

Licensing

Code and documentation are Apache-2.0. The AURORA-12 manuscript, original scientific figures, evidence fixtures, palette values, and poster-example assets are CC0-1.0 as recorded in examples/aurora-synthetic/ASSET_LICENSES.md. Template licensing remains separate.

@QD-academia QD-academia released this 08 Aug 01:28

PostEx v0.2.0a1 — Palette Fusion alpha

PostEx v0.2 turns visual inspiration into an explainable academic-poster design system while retaining evidence traceability, approval gates, editable PPTX output, and print preflight.

Highlights

  • Poster Brief interview for audience, takeaway, emphasis, must-keep evidence, figure-edit permission, logo treatment, and visual tone.
  • Palette DNA with semantic roles, use ratios, moods, component behavior, provenance, simulations, and scientific-color locks.
  • Palette Studio candidates: Academic Safe, Balanced Fusion, and Visual Signature.
  • Three structurally different fusion directions: Hero Result, Visual Journey, and Editorial Story.
  • Digest-bound hero-result, figure-edit, deletion, palette, and structure approvals.
  • Locks for approved copy, figures, regions, palette colors, layout, and logos.
  • Self-contained Palette Studio and design-rationale HTML reports.
  • OpenAI and Anthropic provider boundaries through the shared Python core.
  • Chinese/English input and output; A0, A1, and 36×48-inch landscape support.

Included examples

  • A rights-safe named-theme Palette Fusion example containing no proprietary character artwork.
  • The separately licensed SCI02JITC real-paper golden example with editable PPTX, PDF, PNG, evidence, preflight, and approval records.
  • Six licensed real-paper evaluation previews and one fictional evaluation case.

Validation

  • 16 unit and contract tests passed.
  • Repository and all 10 public schema checks passed.
  • Seven evaluation cases passed, including six real papers.
  • Codex and Claude Code Skills passed validation.
  • Ruff, editable package installation, CLI execution, and ZIP integrity checks passed.

Alpha limitations

Palette Studio and fusion planning are runnable. The Bioinformatics Pipeline family remains the only production-renderable family in all three sizes. Rendering all three fusion directions, live color-vision and print simulations, and the production Observational Cohort family are planned for later v0.2 milestones.

Licensing

Code and documentation are Apache-2.0. Templates and examples have independent license records. The SCI02JITC example is subject to its recorded CC BY-NC terms. Named-theme examples include no third-party character, game, brand, logo, font, or screenshot assets.
