Release list
p11k 1.0.0-alpha.1
Thank you for your attention.
p11k is a prompt engine that continues powerlevel10k: the engine owns the
terminal as a pty host and draws the prompt header, while the shell keeps
drawing the input line. The same theme runs on zsh, bash, fish and pwsh.
This is the first prerelease. It is feature-complete and used daily, but not
yet settled: the config language can still change.
Highlights
- 80+ segments, a KDL theme language, and three icon tiers
- git status computed off the main thread, so even nixpkgs-scale repositories
do not block the prompt - instant header, transient prompt (zsh), vi_mode, history, loose layout
- the
p11k configurewizard, andp11k reloadto re-read the theme without
restarting the shell - the theme is read from ~/.config/p11k/p11k.kdl, or named with --config / --preset
- the proxied shell can be named with shell "zsh" in the theme, or with --shell
- p11k-d, a byte-compatible gitstatusd replacement, ships in the same package
Installing
With Nix:
nix run github:Qaaxaap/powerlevel11k -- --shell zsh
nix profile install github:Qaaxaap/powerlevel11k
A .deb and a tarball are attached. The Debian package declares
Version: 1.0.0~alpha.1, so apt orders it before the eventual 1.0.0. GitHub
replaces the ~ with . in the file name it shows; the version inside the package
keeps the ~.
Linux only for now: the git index scan assumes Linux stat semantics.
