  • Web wallpapers no longer stay a black desktop. The page is applied after the view has a real size, an empty URL cannot wipe a loaded page, and local scripts and images are allowed to load.
  • Scene playback is unchanged. Wallpaper Engine for KDE is still a separate package.
  • A web page that needs WebGL can still be black when plasmashell has the GPU disabled. This package cannot turn that on.

  • Scene playback is included. If Wallpaper Engine for KDE is installed, play hands the workshop folder to that plugin. The plugin is not bundled.
  • If that plugin is absent, a scene with an image or video layer stays a partial still view.
  • Library previews stay gray until hover or keyboard focus, then they show their real colors.
  • The desktop window can check this releases page. Release is the default channel. Nothing downloads until the user confirms, and the archive is kept only when the checksum matches.

This nightly includes scene playback.

If Wallpaper Engine for KDE is installed, play hands the workshop folder to that plugin. Live scenes work only when that plugin is already installed on the machine.

If it is not installed, a scene with an image or video layer stays a partial still view.

Particles, 3D models, and scripts are not rendered by our package. The KDE plugin is not bundled.

Install is unpacking the archive. A later app update can look for tags that start with nightly-.
