What's New in Numlex 4.5.0

  • Section totals: a standalone total line sums the eligible unitless
    calculation answers since the sheet start or the previous total, then
    resets the section. The answer renders semibold under a gray rule placed
    exactly between the neighboring answers. Live Copy, per-answer rounding
    and answer tokens all work on totals, and wrapped logical lines keep
    their gutter number centered on the block.
  • Compact main window: the content height now goes down to 260pt for small
    desks. The default remains 800×600, and the sidebar and answers keep
    scrolling safely at any height.
  • Keyboard-only sidebar reopening option: a Settings toggle (off by
    default) hides the native sidebar button once the sidebar is collapsed.
    Reopen any time with ⌃⌘S (Control-Command-S) or View > Toggle Sidebar —
    the button returns with the sidebar. Fully backward compatible.

Requirements

  • macOS 26 or later, Apple Silicon (arm64).
  • Numlex is ad-hoc signed and not notarized. On first launch,
    Control-click (or right-click) Numlex.app, choose Open, and
    confirm the prompt.
  • Verify your download with the checksums file from this release:
shasum -a 256 -c SHA256SUMS

Privacy

Sheets stay local in Application Support. The only network traffic is the
background currency-rates refresh plus Open-Meteo lookups for weather in … lines you type yourself — only the city you typed is ever sent,
never GPS or location data.
