Breaking changes

Qiskit 1.x is no longer supported (#579)

quri-parts-qiskit now requires qiskit>=2.2,<3 and qiskit-ibm-runtime>=0.47,<0.48 on every supported Python version. If you pin Qiskit 1.x, upgrading to 0.27.0 will either force a Qiskit major upgrade or fail to resolve.

The shot count argument is renamed from n_shots to shots (#585)

The rename has no compatibility alias, and it covers both QURI Parts and QURI Algo:

• Sampler, ConcurrentSampler, StateSampler, and the sample() methods of the Qulacs, Qiskit, and Braket backends
• quri_parts.core.state sampling helpers and should_use_multinomial
• QURI Algo: analyze_qpe, the QPE estimators, the Hadamard test estimator, and the time evolution estimator interface

Positional calls are unaffected. If you pass the value as a keyword argument, rename it:

# after
counts = sampler(circuit, shots=1000)

Circuit repr now renders the circuit (#584)

ImmutableQuantumCircuit and parametric circuits render as ASCII art, so print(circuit) and notebook output now show a diagram instead of the object address. The new public helper quri_parts.circuit.utils.circuit_drawer.circuit_to_string() returns the same text. Code that compares circuit repr output (doctests, log assertions) needs updating.

The QURI Parts documentation sites are superseded by the QURI SDK site, which is now built with Sphinx:

• quri-parts.qunasys.com now redirects to https://quri-sdk.qunasys.com/docs/tutorials/quri-parts/
• the standalone API site now redirects to https://quri-sdk.qunasys.com/api/

Supported Python versions

QURI SDK supports Python 3.10 to 3.14. Python 3.9 support was removed in v0.26.4.

Linux ARM wheels for quri-parts-rust (#577)

quri-parts-rust now ships prebuilt wheels for Linux aarch64, so ARM based machines (including ARM HPC nodes) install from a wheel instead of building the Rust extension from source.
