Touch Enhancer V5 (2026.10.03)

Big cleanup over V4. Same tweaks, but now they actually apply when they should, and the module is a lot lighter on boot.

Fixed

  • SurfaceFlinger tweaks now actually apply. V4 set them after boot, by which point SurfaceFlinger had already read them. V5 sets them early, in post-fs-data.
  • No more video glitches or display restarts on newer devices. On phones where SurfaceFlinger runs in work-duration mode, the VSync offsets crash it. V5 skips them on those devices and clears any old values still set.
  • Refresh rate shows correctly in the log now (no more fake 60Hz / 480Hz). 90, 120 and 144Hz+ panels are detected properly.
  • Uninstall.sh now puts your original refresh-rate setting back instead of wiping it.

New

  • Unlocks your panel's max refresh rate. Applies live, no reboot needed.
  • Touch panel game mode on Xiaomi / OPPO / OnePlus / realme devices that support it.
  • Signed build. The installer checks the signature and every file's SHA-256 before installing, and refuses a modified zip.

Performance

  • Boot work went from ~120 processes to a handful. The early stage takes about 60ms.
  • The late stage runs at low priority, so it doesn't slow down your launcher right after boot.
  • Built-in watchdog: the module can never hold up your boot, even if something hangs.

Log

  • Cleaner log at /data/local/tmp/TouchEnhancer.log. You can read it without root.
  • A few legacy props from V4 are still set, but Android 10+ doesn't use them anymore. They show up as 💤 in the log.

Compatibility

Android 10–17 · arm64 / arm32 · Magisk, KernelSU, APatch
Built with NDK r30 (clang 21).
