Release list
Motion 0.5.5
Void Engine on Minecraft 1.21.11: lighter particles, chunk rebuilds and mob pathfinding. On by default for Performance, a per-profile switch on the Profiles page for the others.
Motion 0.5.4
Moonrise: a faster chunk and lighting engine. On by default for Overkill on Minecraft 26.3, and a per-profile switch for Performance, Cinematic and Default (it replaces Distant Horizons, ScalableLux, Very Many Players and Async there). New Moonrise settings on the Profiles page.
Motion 0.5.3
Fixes alt-tab: Borderless no longer turns into a window you can't switch away from, and Exclusive fullscreen minimises when you alt-tab, like other games.
Motion 0.5.2
Fullscreen mode is now your choice: Windowed, Borderless or Exclusive fullscreen (Settings > Video > Display). Borderless stays the default.
Motion 0.5.1
Motion 0.5.1: the launcher remembers your last profile and version (Performance by default), offhand swap key removed, benchmark no longer drops fast PCs to Potato, Frame Generation only runs when it helps.
Motion 0.5.0
Motion 0.5.0: Xaero-style minimap overhaul, HeroBot + PvP practice map, new HUD elements (sprint, totems, opponent armour), health indicators, shield statuses, custom tab list and friends panel, brewing recipes, Distant Horizons settings, TNT/redstone/laptop performance, world import from other launchers, and many fixes.
Motion 0.4.4
NVIDIA DLSS now switches on instantly with no restart, and its settings (Frame Generation, Upscaling, Reflex) are on the Performance page. New Hotbar scale option to keep the hotbar at Minecraft's default size. Removed live tuning, the manual benchmark and the benchmark results list.
Motion 0.4.3
Performance and memory update: memory sized to what your game actually uses, a heap that grows on demand and gives memory back, hitboxes about 11x cheaper (~16% more FPS with them on), far mobs skip tiny layers, idle browser tabs close to free memory, an NVIDIA Reflex setting, and an automatic OpenGL vs Vulkan test on 26.3.
Motion 0.4.2
NVIDIA DLSS on Minecraft 1.21.11 too (upscaling on every RTX card, Frame Generation on RTX 40/50). Motion vectors now follow each limb, textures stay sharp while upscaling, and a crash when the window size or DLSS mode changed is fixed. NVIDIA, GeForce RTX and DLSS are trademarks of NVIDIA Corporation.
Motion 0.4.1
NVIDIA DLSS upscaling (Quality/Balanced/Performance/Ultra Performance, or DLAA) for every RTX card, and Frame Generation now tracks moving mobs, players and items. The hand, HUD and menus stay out of DLSS and stay sharp. NVIDIA, GeForce RTX and DLSS are trademarks of NVIDIA Corporation.
