Release Notes - v1.8.4-beta

Fixes & Improvements

  • Downloader Fixes: Fixed broken downloader links.
  • Username Handling: Updated variable logic to read the full username.
  • Program Updater: Now provides verbose logging, indicating progress and success/failure status.
  • Ninite Downloader: Now downloads and runs the installer directly, avoiding a flashing browser window.
  • General Improvements: Various string/name changes.
  • Winget Migration: More components migrated to Winget to ensure reliable download links.
  • Hardware Details Update:
    • Replaced WMIC with PowerShell commands for retrieving CPU, GPU, and RAM details.
    • Ensures compatibility with future Windows versions as WMIC is being deprecated (More info).
  • KeyGrabber Update: Refactored logic to retrieve data from new registry values, ensuring functionality on newer Windows versions.
  • Bug Fix: Fixed crashing issue (#167).

New Features & Changes

  • CrystalDiskMark Rename: Renamed CrystalDiskmark.
  • HP Image Assistant (HPIA) Integration:
    • Added support for HP devices.
    • Currently opens the HPIA tool; automation for download and installation is being considered.
