Non-API entry points to be removed from R very soon

Dear COMPASS maintainers,

Some Bioconductor packages are currently using non-API entry points that the R Core Team is going to remove from R very soon. The R Core Team has asked us to notify the maintainers of these packages. In the case of COMPASS the non-API entry point is DATAPTR.

Note that R CMD check has been issuing WARNINGs for these for some time. The Writing R Extensions manual may have some suggestions.
