⚠️ Breaking changes
StateDetector(backend, roi, states)is nowStateDetector(roi, states, *, backend=None). Withoutbackend=, the detector uses SqueezeNet on ncnn, loaded once per process and shared.- Creating the first detector without
backend=loads the model. It blocks on file I/O and can raiseBackendError, so create detectors in an executor, not in an event loop. - ncnn is a regular dependency (
ncnn>=1.0.20261020) andimport tarsiusalways imports it. Thencnnextra is gone, andtarsius[ncnn]only gives a pip warning. NcnnBackend.idis nowsqueezenet11/2because fp16 is off. Stored originals are re-extracted on load, so nothing needs to be taught again.

Referenceis removed, withFeatures.reference(),Reference.to_bytes()/from_bytes()andFeaturesError.Classifier.add()takesFeaturesonly. References are re-extracted from stored frames instead.load_image(draft_side=)is nowload_image(max_side=), and the output is at mostmax_sidefor every format. Features extracted afterload_image()change for the same backend id.majority()returns aResultinstead ofstr | None.- Blank references and invalid regions raise
BlankRegionErrorandRoiError, bothValueErrorsubclasses. A frame that shows nothing raisesBlankFrameError, aBlankRegionErrorsubclass.

First release.
- Classifier with k-nearest confirmed references per state and explicit
unsureandnot_readyresults NcnnBackend: SqueezeNet 1.1 features on ncnn (extratarsius[ncnn]), model converted from the original release in CIEdgeBackend: numpy-only baseline- Regions as fractions or grid cells, reduced JPEG decoding, reference serialization
ncnn stays an optional extra until an ncnn release no longer requires opencv-python, see the README.
