Azeroth Control v0.2.0 — Party & Gamepad Update

This release turns the early control-center preview into a much more complete local single-player companion for AzerothCore Playerbots on Steam Deck, Steam Machine, and x86-64 SteamOS systems.

Download for SteamOS

Download both assets:

  • Azeroth-Control-0.2.0-x86_64.AppImage
  • Azeroth-Control-SteamOS.sh

Keep them together in ~/Applications, mark both executable, and add the SteamOS launcher to Steam as a non-Steam game. Do not force Proton for Azeroth Control itself. Full setup instructions and requirements are in the README.

New in 0.2.0

Dungeon Guide addon

  • Adds the bundled Azeroth Dungeon Guide for WoW 3.3.5a.
  • Opens a large controller-friendly run selector after entering a dungeon.
  • Provides Dynamic, Fast, Careful, and Manual Dungeon Clear modes.
  • Uses the official Dungeon Clear addon command protocol.

Working Party Builder

  • Build & Summon Party now creates a real five-player party around the selected online character.
  • Reserves same-faction Playerbots for the chosen tank, healer, and DPS class/spec slots.
  • Matches bots to the player's current level.
  • Initializes talents, spellbooks, skills, consumables, glyphs, pets, and level-appropriate gear.
  • Repairs, restores, groups, and summons the prepared bots to the player.
  • Adds an Azeroth Control server bridge without opening another network service.
  • Solo Dungeon Finder joins can prepare missing tank/healer/DPS roles before the normal LFG role check.

FFXIV-style gamepad support

  • Adds an optional Azeroth FFXIV Crossbar preset for ConsolePortLK.
  • Includes L2, R2, and L2+R2 skill banks.
  • Includes L1 targeting, L1+D-pad zoom, map, interact, jump, back, and utility-ring bindings.
  • Installs local Steam Input templates for Steam Deck, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch Pro, and generic controllers.
  • Backs up the complete WoW WTF folder before applying the preset.
  • Adds /affxiv, /affxiv apply, and /affxiv restore in-game commands.

Addons and setup improvements

  • Adds RefinedBlizzPlates to the verified addon catalog.
  • Adds optional local autologin during first-account setup.
  • Packages managed server scripts and the versioned server bridge with the AppImage.
  • Expands the dashboard, documentation, installation flow, and recovery messages for the new features.

Upgrade notes

  • Replace the old AppImage and keep using the same Azeroth-Control-SteamOS.sh launcher.
  • Restart Azeroth Control after replacing the AppImage.
  • New installations automatically include the bundled server bridge.
  • Existing v0.1 managed realms do not have a general one-click core/module updater yet; a fresh or resumed managed build may be required to compile the bridge into an older realm.
  • Steam requires one manual Apply Layout confirmation after the FFXIV Steam Input template is installed.

Important

Azeroth Control does not contain or download World of Warcraft. You must provide a separate WoW WotLK 3.3.5a client (build 12340). Proton Experimental is required for launching the Windows client. Optional autologin stores its password locally in a user-only file with mode 600.

This remains a pre-1.0 preview. Back up important realm data before changing core modules or rebuilding an existing installation.
