v2.0.0
RadGen 2 Change Log
Added UI
- Added a new user interface to replace the old command line interface.
- Radar rendering will now be shown live in the UI.
- Radar setup, including radar settings like colors and numeral values, levels, etc., can now be changed inside of the app. RadGen will automatically try to import the settings from the legacy map entities.
- UI supports theming with a custom theme color picker.
New Renderer
- The renderer has been rewritten from the ground up and now features a powerful GPU compositor inspired by Yanzl's Substance Designer node.
- Added new graphical features such as Ambient-Occlusion, per-pixel remove meshes, better outlines, and improved overlap.
- Added new ways to tweak radar color based on height.
- Rendering is now done in 3D even though we usually render from flat top down; this allows us to support arbitrary meshes. An option to render from the side in 3D is available as a debug option.
Added Project System
- Instead of running from the VConsole, RadGen will now store all settings in a map specific project file.
- Project files store map settings, levels, history, and much more.
- The CS2 path is now found automatically by RadGen.
New Vmap parser
- Vmaps will now be read considerably faster.
- No longer limited by the number of vertices in a mesh face.
- No longer limited by the number of vertices in a mesh.
- Full prop support has been added.
- Better Instance and Prefab support.
Issues Fixed
-
RadGen is now much faster; radar compile times have been sped up from minutes (or hours in some cases) to seconds.
-
You no longer need CS2 tools open to use RadGen.
-
You no longer need to manually install .NET.
-
You no longer need to import/configure templates in VConsole for running RadGen (each map now has a .radgen project file).
-
All .bat files are gone and unnecessary.
- No installation steps; RadGen will automatically find your CS directory.
- No enabling/disabling RadGen necessary (therefore, RadGen will no longer halt you playing online).
- Game updates will no longer affect RadGen.
-
Removed update radars feature, as radars are automatically updated when files are changed in your addon folder.
Behavior Changes
- Dropped support for Danger Zone.
- Removed danger, door, ladder, and overlay materials and overlay types.
- Removed Spawnselect or Tablet image files.
- Removed radar background as CS2 radars no longer use it.
- Removed RadGen Box.
- Radgen selection set has been removed. If you had props in there, for example, put them inside a radgen_cover selection set instead.
Remaining Issues
- No subdivision support.
- No CLI support.
- No longer supports face selection sets.
- Instance and Prefab support is not perfect and in some cases, especially when nested will misalign objects.
