Pocket Node v1.8.5 makes the app lock smarter, keeps every wallet syncing when you change sync settings, improves Nervos DAO unlocks, and cleans up a few confusing activity entries. Thank you to everyone who reported these.
Security and unlocking
Unlocking takes you back where you were
When you came back to the app and unlocked with your fingerprint or PIN, you always landed on Home and lost whatever you were doing. The lock now sits on top of the screen you left, so after unlocking you are back on the same screen, with a half-typed send or an open transaction still there.
Secrets are cleared every time the app locks
If the app locks while a recovery phrase or private key is on screen, or while you are typing one in, it is cleared. You have to authenticate again to see it.
Wallets and sync
Restored wallets sync their history
A wallet restored from a recovery phrase could start syncing from today, so older transactions and balance were missing. Restored wallets now start from Recent (about the last 30 days), and you are asked to choose a sync start point after every import.
Changing sync settings no longer stops your other wallets
If you had more than one wallet, changing the sync mode of one of them could stop the others from syncing in the background. All your wallets now stay registered, and if a change fails, your previous setting is kept.
Nervos DAO
Unlock can no longer be pressed twice
While an unlock was on its way to the network, the Unlock button stayed active and a second tap started another attempt. Unlock and Withdraw are now disabled while one of them is in progress.
A claimed deposit no longer comes back
After you unlocked a deposit and the CKB was back in your balance, the deposit could still show as unlocking or unlockable. It now moves to Completed once the unlock is confirmed on chain. If the network cannot confirm it, the deposit stays listed rather than disappearing on a guess.
No more false "Deep rescan" prompt
The "Deep rescan for older deposits?" prompt could appear right after an unlock even though nothing was missing. Completed deposits no longer trigger it.
Activity
Transfers to yourself are labelled "Self Transfer"
Sending CKB to one of your own addresses used to show as "Sent -0.00001 CKB", which looked like money had gone somewhere. These now read "Self Transfer" and show only the network fee you paid.
Privacy
Network services in Settings
Pocket Node talks to the CKB network through its own light client. A new "Network services" section in Settings lists the only two outside services the app uses: the fiat price (CoinGecko and Binance, which receive only your IP address) and update checks (GitHub). Each has its own switch. With the price turned off, your balance shows in CKB only.
Under the hood
- The key used for encrypted backups now comes from the same Argon2id code as your PIN, and an old cryptography library is no longer shipped in the app. Existing backups restore as before.
- A clearer message if upgrading a wallet's key storage fails: it retries the next time you unlock.
- New automatic checks on the embedded light client's dependencies and a secret scanner in our build pipeline.
As always, Pocket Node runs a full CKB light client on your device. Your keys never leave the phone.
