RTSP Virtual Webcam v1.0.0
RTSP Virtual Webcam v1.0.0
The first stable release of RTSP Virtual Webcam.
RTSP Virtual Webcam turns an RTSP-compatible IP camera into a virtual webcam and microphone on Windows, allowing it to be used by applications such as Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Discord, OBS Studio, and other software that supports standard camera and microphone devices.
Features
- RTSP video streaming to a virtual webcam
- RTSP audio streaming to a virtual microphone via VB-Audio VB-CABLE
- Hardware-accelerated video decoding through FFmpeg
- Automatic reconnection when the camera connection is interrupted
- Configurable audio/video delay for synchronization
- GUI and CLI interfaces
- UnityCapture support as the default virtual camera backend
- Optional OBS Studio virtual camera backend
- Windows installer built with Inno Setup
- No OBS Studio installation required when using the UnityCapture backend
Installation
Download RTSP-Virtual-Webcam-Setup-v1.0.0.exe from the Assets section below and run the installer.
The installer automatically registers the UnityCapture virtual camera driver and guides you through the required VB-CABLE installation.
Note: VB-Audio VB-CABLE is not bundled with the installer due to its licensing requirements. It must be installed separately.
Requirements
- Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit)
- An IP camera with RTSP support
- VB-Audio VB-CABLE for audio
- FFmpeg and a supported virtual camera backend are included/configured as part of the application workflow
Known Limitations
- Audio and video are processed through separate RTSP connections, so some cameras may require manual audio/video delay adjustment.
- Some IP cameras allow only a single RTSP connection. Such cameras may not work correctly with the default architecture, which uses separate connections for audio and video.
- H.264 video is expected for the current release.
