Isn’t there a system setting about opening non-MAS apps? Maybe you have that set so that you can’t open the app?

Though I don't see there being an issue with the binary for x86

I recommend checking SIP settings.

SIP needs to be on Full or Reduced, if it is set to Permissive then in some situations apps won't run on macOS with no visible error other than some cryptic log messages.
