RushOfPCVR v0.3.5 DS Build
Pre-release
Pre-release
Until Dawn: Rush of Blood in VR on a Windows PC, shown in a Quest 3 through Virtual Desktop.
Bring your own copy of the game (US release, CUSA03683, version 1.00); nothing of it is included.
What's new in 0.3.5
- One start file:
Play Rush of Blood.batreplaces the two earlier start files. - A new "Controllers" card in the start-up window, with a switch for the Quest controllers and sliders for aim angle, reach and turning. In this free edition it is greyed out: the DualSense is the controller here, as before. The card is for the separate Motion edition, where the Quest controllers play as the game's PlayStation Move wands.
- Disabled switches, sliders and buttons now look disabled in the window.
- No more plain fallback window. If the settings window can't be built, a message says why and the game starts with your saved settings.
- Everything else is as in 0.3.0: the game runs at the speed it was made for, at 50 to 60 frames a second, with the captions in step with the voice, no garbled textures, sharper textures, and FXAA.
What you need
- A Meta Quest 3 with Virtual Desktop (set its frame rate to 120).
- A PS5 DualSense connected to the PC.
- A Windows 10/11 PC with a Vulkan 1.3 graphics card (an RTX 4080 laptop was used).
- Your own copy of the game.
How to start
- Unzip the whole package into a folder with a short path, e.g.
C:\Games\RushVR. - Put your copy of the game in the
gamesfolder (its folder or its.pkg), or let the launcher ask where it is. - Connect Virtual Desktop to the PC, then start
Play Rush of Blood.bat. - In the game's own start-up question, choose the DualShock controller.
The README in the zip has the details.
Known problems
- The picture still looks pixelated or soft in places in the headset. Work continues.
- Now and then the game freezes for a second or more. (Mainly my internet issues with virtual desktop)
- Levels 5 and later are untested; a long session in level 2 and later still needs testing.
