datasource-file v1.0.0 — Salpausselkä
The Salpausselkä Release
This release is a maintenance-only stabilization of the file-based datasources. It modernizes tooling and documentation while preserving behavior and public API compatibility.
Highlights
- Explicit Node.js 22 LTS support and compatibility guidance.
- Baseline tests, linting, and formatting added for long‑term stability.
- CI + local parity established, including
npm auditartifacts. - Documentation expanded for sync I/O, error semantics, and path token rules.
Compatibility
- No intentional runtime behavior changes.
- Public exports and config keys are unchanged.
- Missing‑file behavior for JSON/YAML remains as before (documented explicitly).
Tooling and Quality
node:testtest runner with baseline datasource coverage.- ESLint and Prettier for consistent maintenance work.
ci:localmirrors GitHub Actions steps.
Documentation Improvements
- Clear datasource semantics and update behavior.
- Compatibility section added.
- Example config snippets for each datasource type.
Notes
- A previously proposed change to treat missing JSON files as empty results was deferred to avoid a behavior change in 1.0.
