Launcher was completely reworked from scratch (Python → C#) with new UI and new features.

Notable changes:

  • Completely new UI
  • Mod updates are now downloaded directly through Steam (instead of SteamCMD), this means much faster and reliable downloads
  • Everything is now packaged in one app, updates happen on the background (no more console windows)
  • Subscribed mods are checked for updates right away as the app launches (downloads start even before you choose the server)
  • Server list now shows server icons, number of mods and IP addresses
  • Servers can now have tags (Roleplay, Dice PvP, Mech PvP)
  • Servers now have clickable links to their Discord servers and websites
  • Online player count, map name and ping are displayed on the server list for all servers that have provided Steam Query port
  • Estimated player count and map name are displayed even before queries go through for servers that use ConaySync (part of Knight's Sanity)
  • Local presets are now separated on their own tab
  • You can now favorite servers and have them saved on a separate tab
  • Added Launch tab that shows a list of all currently loaded mods (with icons, file sizes and time of last update)
  • Mods now have clickable links to their Steam Workshop pages
  • Workshop links open in Steam window, Discord links open in Discord (everything is integrated through protocol URIs)
  • Added several new settings related to launcher behavior
  • Added recommended immersive settings (optional button similar to disabling the Conan intro that will change your game config files, this one will hide sheathed weapons - since most servers use Tot Custom instead, it will also hide journey UI and contextual controls, and enable audio at 25% volume even when the game is minimized)
  • Conay launcher and its installer is now digitally signed with a certificate (this ensures trust and accountability and helps me build good reputation with antivirus software, and it also means that in the future the Windows SmartScreen should stop warning people of risky install, once enough people use the app)
