File-transfer quick switch

Grab a file and Alt+Tab while holding it to move it between apps without losing the drag. A quick tap flicks to your last window (tap again to go further back); hold the modifier to open the canvas, pick a target with the keyboard, and press Enter. Drop the file on the window that comes forward.
Toggle it in Settings under Layout ("Quick switch while dragging a file"), on by default.

Multi-monitor control

New "Canvas spans all monitors" toggle (Settings, Layout), on by default. Turn it off to open the canvas only on the monitor your cursor is on.
Tiles now lay out to the shape of your screen area, so on a multi-monitor canvas they spread across all displays instead of bunching into the middle. Use "Rearrange all tiles" to apply the new spread to your existing windows.

No runtime needed

The app now ships self-contained. The .NET runtime is bundled in, so it installs and launches on a clean Windows 10 or 11 machine with nothing else to install and no restart.

Download

  • PrinceWMSetup.exe installs PrinceWM with a Start Menu and optional desktop shortcut.
  • PrinceWM-1.4.0 is a no-install version. Extract and run PrinceWM.exe.

If Windows SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC", click More info then Run anyway. To avoid it, right-click the download, open Properties, check Unblock, then run.
