BrickSuite v0.2.0 — Initial Public Release
BrickSuite v0.2.0 — Initial Public Release
BrickSuite v0.2.0 is the first public release of BrickSuite, a desktop application for managing the physical and digital sides of a brick workshop.
BrickSuite brings storage, loose inventory, Sets, MOCs, Builds, missing parts, and reference catalogs together in one local application backed by SQLite.
Highlights
Inventory & Storage
- Organize physical storage using hierarchical locations such as areas, cabinets, drawers, bins, trays, compartments, dividers, and shelves.
- Maintain My Loose Inventory with location, quantity, color, manufacturer, and provenance information.
- Track inventory movement history, including lost and found parts.
- Import and manage large Rebrickable-based Parts, Colors, Categories, and Sets catalogs.
Sets, MOCs & Builds
- Create and manage LEGO Sets and custom MOC Builds.
- Create Complete Set Builds directly from Set inventory data.
- Track regular and spare pieces separately.
- Release spare pieces from Complete Sets into My Loose Inventory for use in other Builds.
- Disassemble completed Sets and return their parts to loose inventory while preserving history.
- Allocate available inventory to Build requirements and identify missing pieces.
Rebrickable Integration
- Import Rebrickable inventory data.
- Compare BrickSuite inventory with Rebrickable.
- Append, Replace, Subtract, or perform Compare Only synchronization workflows.

Brickset Integration
- Optional Brickset API integration for enriched Set information.
- View additional Set metadata and ratings.
- Access available LEGO instruction information.
- Automatic fallback to Rebrickable when Brickset is unavailable or configured usage limits are reached.

- macOS Keychain
- Linux Secret Service / keyring
Legacy plaintext API-key settings are migrated to secure storage when possible.
Help & Updates
- Comprehensive built-in BrickSuite Help.
- Online User Guide published through GitHub Pages.
- Built-in Help → Check for Updates support.
- Light and Dark application themes.
Windows Release
The Windows installer attached to this release was generated using BrickSuite's automated Release/Deploy packaging workflow and tested on a separate Windows computer.
Testing included:
- a fresh installation with no existing BrickSuite database
- an existing-user scenario using a populated BrickSuite database and image cache
- application startup and normal operation after installation
Download the attached Windows installer and run Setup to install BrickSuite.
BrickSuite user data is stored separately from the application installation. Uninstalling BrickSuite does not intentionally remove your local BrickSuite database or other user-managed application data.
Other Platforms
BrickSuite source builds have been validated on:
- Windows
- macOS
- Ubuntu Linux
Pre-built macOS and Linux packages are not included in v0.2.0. Packaging for those platforms is planned for future releases.
API Keys
Rebrickable and Brickset integrations require users to provide their own applicable API credentials. BrickSuite does not include shared provider credentials.
