This release introduces significant improvements to stability, security, and usability.

What’s New
SHA256 Checksum Verification

All downloaded scripts are now verified against a .sha256 checksum file when available.

Prevents tampering, corruption, or incomplete downloads.

If no checksum is found, ScriptGrab warns the user but still proceeds with installation.

Improved Error Handling

Clear error messages replace silent failures.

Broken or partial installs are automatically cleaned up.

Updates and uninstall processes fail safely instead of leaving the system in a bad state.

PATH Management Fix

Prevents duplicate PATH exports.

Ensures $SCRIPTGRAB_DIR is only added once to shell config files.

Update Process Reinforced

Update scripts (install-scriptgrab.sh and uninstall-scriptgrab.sh) are also downloaded securely and verified when possible.

Reduces the risk of corrupted update files.

What's New

Local Script Installation

• Feature: You can now install local shell scripts directly.
• Usage:

  scriptgrab local /path/to/your/script.sh

• Description: This command copies your specified .sh file into the ScriptGrab directory and sets the executable permission, allowing you to run your custom scripts from anywhere.

About Command

• Feature: Added an about command to display tool information.
• Usage:

  scriptgrab about

• Description: When run, this command displays a stylized block of ASCII art along with the current version (v2.1) to provide a fun, visual confirmation of the installed version.

Version Update

• Version: The ScriptGrab version has been updated from v2.0 to v2.1 to include the new features listed above.

Updating from Previous Versions

If you're on an older version of ScriptGrab, you can simply update to the new version by running:

scriptgrab update

This command will automatically download and install ScriptGrab v2.1.

Other Improvements

• Help Update: The help text has been updated to include the new commands (local and about).
• Minor Fixes: Various small bug fixes and optimizations have been applied for a smoother experience.

Simply download and install ScriptGrab v2.1, and then run:

scriptgrab help
