Settings

Open settings via ESC → Settings → Soil & Fertilizer (in-game menu).

In multiplayer, only the server admin (master user) can change settings. Other players can view but not edit. Settings are server-authoritative and sync to all clients automatically.

Simulation settings (server-controlled)

Setting Default Description
Enable Mod On Master switch. Disabling stops all depletion and restoration but keeps saved data intact.
Fertility System On Enables/disables nutrient depletion at harvest and fertilizer restoration.
Nutrient Cycles On Enables/disables rain leaching and seasonal nitrogen effects.
Seasonal Effects On Spring N boost (+0.03/day) and fall N loss (−0.02/day).
Rain Effects On Rain leaches N, K, and P; slightly acidifies pH.
Plowing Bonus On Deep plowing (>15 cm) mixes organic matter and gives a small OM boost.
Weed Pressure On Tracks per-field weed density; applies yield penalties at harvest. Apply herbicide to reduce.
Pest Pressure On Tracks insect pest pressure per field. Grows daily, peaks in summer. Apply insecticide to reduce. Max yield penalty −20%.
Disease Pressure On Tracks crop disease pressure per field. Driven by rain, peaks spring and fall. Apply fungicide to reduce. Max yield penalty −25%.
Fertilizer Costs On Custom fertilizer types cost money to purchase.
Notifications On In-game notifications for fertilizer application and harvest depletion events.
Auto-Rate Control On Sprayer automatically adjusts application rate to target optimal nutrient levels.
Difficulty Realistic Controls depletion and restoration multiplier (see below).

Difficulty levels

Level Multiplier Effect
Simple 0.7× 30% less depletion per harvest; easier for new players
Realistic 1.0× Balanced; calibrated to real-world agricultural rates
Hardcore 1.5× 50% more depletion; intensive soil management required

HUD settings (per-player, not synced)

Each player controls their own HUD appearance independently. These settings are not sent to the server.

Sprayer application rate

While driving a sprayer or spreader, adjust the application rate with:

Action Key binding (default)
Rate Up SF Rate Up
Rate Down SF Rate Down
Toggle Auto-Rate SF Toggle Auto

20 rate steps are available from 0.10× to 2.00× the base rate. Rates above 1.25× risk fertilizer burn; rates at or above 1.50× guarantee burn on every application.

The HUD displays the current rate in real-world units (gal/ac or L/ha) based on the loaded fill type.
