What's new

🎮 Controller support

You can now play with a Bluetooth or USB controller. The game already had built-in support for the MOGA controller from 2012, so I hooked modern controllers into it. When you use a controller, the touch buttons disappear and the HUD shows the controller buttons instead.

Controller In game
Left stick / D-pad Move, navigate menus
Right stick Camera
A Jump, confirm
B Back
X / Y Gadget and action buttons (Y = grapple)
L1 / L2, R1 / R2 L and R
Start Pause

The game switches automatically: press a button on the controller to play with it, touch the screen to go back to touch controls.

I couldn't try every controller: if something doesn't work with yours, let me know which controller you're using.

🛒 Tech Store

  • 999,999 Wayne coins: the coins you could once only top up with real money. Buy anything you want, and the balance tops back up after every purchase.
  • 999 skill points (SP): unlock all the gadgets you like.

Items still work as before: you buy them, use them up, and buy them again.

Install

Install it over the previous version: your progress is kept.

Requires a 64-bit Android phone with Android 10 or newer and about 3 GB of free space.

Missing textures on non-Snapdragon devices (MediaTek / Mali GPUs, e.g. Helio G99, Helio G100). The 3D world (Batman, buildings, streets) wasn't drawn, only the sky, smoke and the HUD. The cause was the 4x anti-aliasing of the 3D scene: it relies on a GPU feature that Snapdragon (Adreno) has and many other GPUs don't. It's now used only where it's supported. On other GPUs the game renders without that anti-aliasing instead of losing the scene.
The "Revived by RedMemories" signature no longer covers menu content. It now shows only on the main menu page. It fades out when you open a submenu (Chapters, Options, Tech Shop…) and comes back when you return.

First release of The Dark Knight Rises Revived.

  • The whole game engine recompiled to 64-bit code: 39,153 of its 39,158 functions
  • The Android side of the game rewritten from scratch, without the ads and leftovers of the store repack
  • Full screen at the full resolution of the screen, close to 60 fps
  • No permissions requested, no phone ID read
  • Game data packed inside the APK: the first launch unpacks it in a few seconds

Install: download DarkKnightRises.apk, install it and open it. No PC, no extra downloads, no account.

Requirements: 64-bit Android phone with Android 10 or newer, about 3 GB of free space.

Tested on a Galaxy S26 Ultra with Android 17. If you play on a phone without a Snapdragon chip (MediaTek Dimensity, Exynos, Google Tensor), let me know how it runs.
