v1.0.0
Pre-releasev1.0.0 (beta)
The first numbered release. Unofficial, in beta, and Premium-only: free
accounts can browse but the Nexus API does not give them download links.
What it is
Browse, download, install, update and manage Nexus Mods content from Gaming
Mode with a controller, on SteamOS and Bazzite. No Desktop Mode after
install.
Built with AI (Claude), directed and tested by hand: every supported game
below was installed, modded and played on real hardware before it shipped.
Supported games
Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, Fallout 4, Fallout: New Vegas, Helldivers 2,
Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, Resident Evil 4, Skyrim Special Edition,
Slay the Spire 2, Stardew Valley, The Witcher 3.
Helldivers 2 note: the game changes its data files with every update, which
breaks most mods until their authors re-release. The plugin flags stale mods
with a PRE-UPDATE badge and can filter to mods updated since the game's last
patch. Every mod manager lives with this on that game.
Highlights since the last build you may have tried
- One-tap updates, with the version picker opening inline when an update
offers choices - Filters next to sort: the game's categories, recently updated, and "since
game update" on live-service games - Bannerlord: full support - frameworks installed and activated, load order
solved from the mods' own declared rules, collections gated honestly by
the game version they target - ReShade packages install where configured, launch options set
automatically, with the injection risk stated before the download - Collections skip what cannot work on your game version and name every
skip, rather than crashing you at boot
Installing
One line in Desktop Mode's Konsole - the README walks through every step,
including where your API key lives:
curl -L https://raw.githubusercontent.com/RedRanger14/decky-nexus/main/install.sh | sh
Updating is the same line. Mods, settings and your key survive updates.
Known limitations
- Premium only (API limitation, stated up front)
- No manual load order editing yet
- Decky's own "Install from URL" is broken (Decky bug); use the script or
"Install from zip" - Updates to the plugin are manual until a store exists
Report problems via GitHub Issues - the plugin's Health page can package the
details for you.
