Here's a collection of some frequently asked questions and the answers:
- Q: I have a good suggestion, where can I tell you?
A: Here. - Q: Why don't you implement my suggestion?
A: Maybe it sucked, maybe I didn't have time, maybe both. - Q: Why is this not written in JavaScript, when cubing.js exists?
A: The simple reason is that I don't know JavaScript. Someone else or I myself will eventually have to rewrite this in JavaScript at some point, but until then, we have the Java version. - Q: Why does the cube visualization suck?
A: Because I can't be bothered to learn JavaFX 3D graphics, so you'll just have to put up with VisualCube or use ACN. - Q: Why not just use a spreadsheet?
A: Because a program is more customizable in my opinion. If you still want a spreadsheet though, have a look at Stewy's. - Q: The GUI is kinda ugly, why?
A: Because this was mainly made for making exporting the solves, I might improve the GUI at some point. Also note that I'm not a professional programmer, so maybe I just suck. - Q: Why can't I import solves cstimer and qqtimer like in the spreadsheet?
A: Same reason as before, might add at some point. - Q: Can you make typing notation easier?
A: At some point maybe. Until then, use Tao Yu's AlgType. - Q: What about other puzzles?
A: Not going to add those any time soon, at least not until ACN has good support for them. - Q: Why the name "Nachbildung"?
A: Because I'm German and /x/ is a fun sound for most English speakers. - Q: Is this malware?
A: No, but don't sue me if it is. If you don't believe me, use some kind of virtual machine to run this or look through the source code and compile it yourself. - Q: Can I modify/copy/redistribute this?
A: Please read the license. - Q: What about a version for mobile?
A: Not any time soon. - Q: Can I help you or support you somehow?
A: I don't think I currently need any help, though feel free to fork the repository and expand the program, while following the terms of the license. You can also help to improve the program by creating reports about issues and support me by letting me know that you like my work, e.g. by telling me or adding a small Reconstructed using Nachbildung notice at the end of your reconstruction. (The latter is definitely not mandatory, but I would feel cool if you did that.) - Q: Why did you code this useless program?
A: No idea.
