agents-mcp 1.0.0
First public release of agents-mcp — an MCP server that exposes specialized LLM agents as regular tools to any MCP client (for example, Claude Code).
An agent is a folder with two files: prompt.md and config.toml. New and changed agents are picked up at runtime — no rebuild, no restart.
Highlights
- Any model provider: OpenAI-compatible APIs (DeepSeek, local models via llama-server and similar), Anthropic Messages API, Claude via Claude Code CLI (subscription), OpenAI via Codex CLI, plus
mockfor tests. - Agents with tools: HTTP and process-based MCP servers; file tools restricted to allowed roots.
- Non-blocking runs:
agent_runreturns immediately, the result appears as a file; running calls can be cancelled. - Accounting: call history, tokens and cost from per-model prices in the config, response cache.
- Secrets out of config files:
${NAME}and${NAME:-default}inmcp_configand providerproxy, resolved from the environment or.env. - Hot reload of agents and the main config; graceful shutdown via
prepare_shutdown. - Easy to run: single Rust binary for Windows and Linux (glibc ≥ 2.30), built-in SQLite by default, PostgreSQL optional.
