HomeCar v0.1.1 Beta

Maintenance, compatibility and security update following the first public beta.

Changes

  • Improved Android Auto launcher configuration
  • Removed the Android Auto media-browser launcher entry
  • Fixed settings behavior between phone and Android Auto
  • Settings button is hidden in the projected Android Auto interface
  • Improved dark-theme dialog visibility
  • Improved WebView navigation security
  • Restricted geolocation and WebView permissions to the configured Home Assistant origin
  • Disabled exported HomeCar/Fermata ContentProvider access in the Android Auto build
  • Blocked direct file:// access through the ContentProvider
  • Added sender validation to Xposed IPC messages
  • Web-only HomeCar Android Auto configuration
  • Improved single-entry Android Auto behavior

Installation

Download:

HomeCar-v0.1.1-beta-universal.apk

Install the .apk file using KingInstaller when required by your Android Auto environment.

Do not attempt to install the .apks bundletool container directly.

Installation

  1. Download HomeCar-v0.1.0-beta-universal.apk
  2. Open KingInstaller
  3. Select the APK
  4. Install using Classic mode
  5. Open HomeCar
  6. Configure your Home Assistant URL using the settings button
  7. Connect to Android Auto
