ChicanePusherLab v0.6.57
ChicanePusherLab — v0.6.57
Turns the vanilla Chicane (AttackHelo1) attack helicopter into a compound helicopter — a single-rotor analogue of the UH-90 Ibis — by grafting on a centerline pusher propeller and the flight model to match.
From vanilla, this adds / changes:
Propulsion
Adds a pusher prop + nacelle (visual + physics) on the tail centerline. Forward/reverse thrust via Custom Axis 1 or Auto Thrust.
Pusher power is drawn from the real turbine budget through the native transmission — not free thrust; the engines actually load up.
Cricket-based pusher prop model with thrust modulated by blade angle.
Ibis-style main-rotor power model: real power draw, idle/profile drag, natural power fluctuation.
Flight characteristics
Rotor disc + collective drag force: you reach top speed by backing off collective and flying the disc edge-on (level to ~2–3° nose-up), like the Ibis — nosing down now costs speed instead of gaining it.
Lateral mast-trim cancels the single-rotor right-drift at speed (tunable gain, kph cutoff, linear→quadratic nonlinearity).
Controls / automation
Auto Thrust rewritten for the Chicane: thrusts forward by default; only reverses when deliberately pitched up >5° with collective low — won't brake a level high-speed run. Emits the usual "Thrust mode set to …" HUD messages.
Auto-hover correctly holds the pusher neutral instead of slamming reverse.
Rebindable å / æ trim keys, visible in the in-game Controls menu.
Visuals / HUD
Scaled Cricket prop with pitch-responsive propeller model.
Generated nacelle taking livery texture and mapping.
Ibis 3D static and spinning single rotor mesh transplanted on the Chicane hub,
Ibis thrust+collective composite HUD gauge, a working rotor-RPM readout, and a pusher power readout on the cockpit tacScreen.
Fully configurable via the BepInEx config; F8 writes detailed flight/HUD diagnostics.
Coming next: a pusher fan/nacelle damage model.
Compatible and plays well with ChicaneWingDelete, top speed goes from ~450 to above 500 without wings.
