ZeroThink Local 1.0

Created by Shafaet Brady Hussain. A new Apache-2.0 open-source, self-hosted research engine developing the author's earlier ZeroThink evidence and orchestration concepts.

Works independently

  • No required company website, account, hosted database or admin login.
  • Offline selected-document retrieval, evidence maps, source ledgers and nine research processes.
  • Optional local Ollama or operator-selected OpenAI-compatible server/provider.
  • Bounded draft, critique and revision passes with progress, cancellation and token ceilings.
  • Source-ID warnings, selected-source boundaries and Markdown/JSON export.
  • Standalone dependency-free CLI on Node.js 22 or later.

Start

Extract the ZIP and run:

node cli.cjs --question "What evidence is required to compare energy efficiency?" --document examples/synthetic-evidence.md --process gap-analysis

This default run needs no API, model, account or internet. The included document is fictional synthetic test material.

For model use, select an installed Ollama model or explicitly configure your own compatible endpoint. Remote calls require --allow-remote; there is no automatic cloud fallback. See the README for the full API contract and privacy boundaries.

Verified

All 36 focused tests and syntax checks pass. GitHub Actions repeats them on Windows, macOS and Linux, including real loopback HTTP requests to mock Ollama and compatible services. No paid model calls or private data were used for these tests.

These software checks do not establish scientific novelty, AGI, factual truth or independent research validation. Citation checks identify supplied source IDs; the researcher must assess factual support. This release contains no legacy hosted service, private records, experimental cipher or model weights.

The ZIP includes source, Apache LICENSE, NOTICE, provenance, synthetic fixtures and tests. Verify it using the attached SHA-256 file.
