Release Notes for v0.5.8-RC
RC2: (synced to AutoFPS 0.4.6.8-RC3)
- Added Update Channel system providing a clear floor for allowed update maturity levels (Release, RC+, Test+, Exp+), replacing the previous binary test‑update model.
- Replaced “+ Tests” checkbox with Update Channel dropdown while preserving all previous test‑update and reversion behaviour.
- Updated the MSFS Performance Optimisations checkbox tooltip to include a warning that performance may improve or reduce depending on system.
RC1:
- Debounced MSFS camera‑state handling to reuse the last stable state until a new one repeats, reducing false session drops.
- Changed IsCamReady logic to ignore the PLANE IN PARKING STATE as this SimVar is no longer relevant here.
- Excluded MSFS camera state 0 from triggering flight‑session drops, as this state is briefly entered during normal camera transitions and can cause false session terminations.
- Extended MSFS camera state change logging in Test Versions to include IsCamReady.
- Expanded the allowable MSFS camera states for a flight session to start and remain active to include states 6–10, as these may be used by addons that manipulate camera views.
- Reduced flight‑session detection interval from 5s to 1s for more responsive session handling.
- Maintained a persistent SimConnect connection across flight sessions and added guarded one‑time simvar subscriptions to prevent duplicate registrations in sessions after the first.
- Centralised all SimConnect subscriptions into one guarded block in WaitForSessionReady() to prevent duplicate subs and keep them all in one place.
- Reduced flight‑session detection interval from 5s to 1s for more responsive session handling.
- Updated UserCfg.opt backup/restore logic to skip read‑only files and remove read‑only remnant temp files, preventing errors and warnings.
- Added a retry‑based file restore to handle rare transient locks on UserCfg.opt, improving reliability on systems where external processes briefly hold the file open.
