Release notes for 0.5.4.3

This release introduces comprehensive Optical Flow OpenXR (OFXR) frame generation support for VR users and delivers major enhancements to the In-Game Widget—including automatic vertical window sizing, a persistent show/hide toggle hotkey, and improved visual scaling—alongside installation and version detection refinements for custom Community folder configurations.

Please review the updated readme here, which provides a detailed description of the app, installation, features and settings, before asking any questions or raising any issues about the app.

Fixes and Improvements

Optical Flow OpenXR (OFXR) VR Support

  • Added automated support for Optical Flow OpenXR (OFXR) in VR:
    • Automatically detected whenever the OFXR Bridge Tray application is running and armed while entering VR mode.
    • Dynamically tracks active and paused states in real time: applies the detected frame generation multiplier (2X or 3X) to FPS calculations when active, and displays native sim FPS when paused via hotkey.
    • Automatically pauses LOD adjustments and displays OFXR ⏸ while paused to keep visual quality steady for seamless A/B comparison without exiting the OFXR profile.
    • Automatically reverts to standard VR mode if the bridge is disarmed.
    • Adds a dedicated OFXR Target FPS graphics mode with its own independently saved target FPS setting.
    • Displays live OFXR status and multiplier (e.g. OFXR 3X, OFXR ⏸) directly on the main app status line and UI.
    • Added comprehensive OFXR logging, including active multiplier (1X, 2X, 3X), pause/unpause state transitions, mid-flight multiplier changes, and notices when re-arming the tray bridge requires cycling VR.

In-Game Widget Enhancements

  • Changed the In-Game Widget window to automatically adjust its height to fit content dynamically, eliminating manual vertical resizing and ensuring balanced margins.
  • Refined In-Game Widget text and font scaling to accommodate auto-height adjustment, preventing vertical clipping at wider VR window widths without impacting readability.
  • Added a user-configurable Show/Hide keyboard shortcut that persists between sessions, allowing widget visibility to be toggled on demand:
    • Defaults to unassigned to avoid conflicting with MSFS controls, camera views, or aircraft keybindings.
    • Streamlined toolbar interface displays "Set Hotkey" when unassigned, and hides the label when inactive to reduce clutter.
    • Supports quick assignment by clicking and pressing the desired combo, or clearing via button click or Escape/Backspace/Delete.
  • Updated the companion browser-based live widget web page to match the latest In-Game Widget UI and functionality, including Show/Hide hotkey configuration, refined button state transitions, and SVG status glyph rendering.
  • Reinstated special status glyphs and symbols (▲ ▼ ⊥ ⊤ Δ ⚡ ⏸ ❄️ 🔒) on applicable widget readouts to match the main desktop UI.
  • Fixed In-Game Widget toolbar buttons extending slightly above the top window frame border.
  • Fixed an issue where dragging the main application window could inadvertently trigger a click on the RTSS/MSFS FPS source toggle icon.

Installer and Detection Fixes

  • Fixed widget version and MobiFlight detection resolving the wrong Community folder in configurations using custom paths or management tools (such as Addons Linker), ensuring the true MSFS-configured folder is checked and providing clearer warning dialogs.
  • Fixed installer handling of symbolic links and leftover folders in the active Community folder, ensuring stale links or obsolete folders are cleanly removed when installing to a custom folder while safely preserving valid links.
  • Fixed an issue where the Session connection status indicator remained green after SimConnect disconnected during sudden sim exits; it now extinguishes immediately if SimConnect is lost.
