Auto Off/On Times now available!
You can now optionally enable and specify a certain time to automatically turn off (or dim) the LEDs and then a second time to turn on (or brighten) the LEDs. This is in lieu of an external automation system. You can use one, both or neither of these options. Most commonly, this will be used the turn the LED matrix off overnight or to maybe dim the LEDs in the evening. Then the following morning, the matrix will automatically turn on (or brighten) at the auto-on time. See the new auto-time section of the Using the Web Settings wiki page for full details on how to use this new feature.
Other Fixes and Changes
- Added new auto on/off config files to the API state output
- Renamed 12/24 hour mode from 'hours' to 'hoursformat' in the state JSON output (breaking change)
- Miscellaneous code clean-up and improvements
Breaking Changes
- The prior "hours" field in the API state output has been renamed "hoursformat" to better distinguish it from the new auto on/off fields. If you were using the API state output, you may need to adjust your routines for this name change. If not using the API state option, then you will not be impacted by this change.
Initial Installation
To install on a new ESP32 for the first time, please download the .bin file from below and follow the instructions provided in the Initial Installation and First Time Setup sections of the Wiki.
Upgrading from a Prior Version
If upgrading from v0.21 or later, just download the .bin file below and simply use the web settings Firmware Upgrade option to install the downloaded .bin file. Your configuration file and local settings should not be changed or overwritten. The new auto on/off option will default to disabled (off) until you opt to enable it.
