LiveDrop v0.1.5.1

@RetiredLake RetiredLake released this 13 Sep 21:03

LiveDrop v0.1.5.1 fixes the UWP outbound transfer failure reported as “A method was called at an unexpected time.”

  • Configures the outbound StreamSocket before connecting.
  • Stages selected files into LiveDrop-owned storage before transfer.
  • Handles Quick Share bandwidth-upgrade retry control frames.
  • Refreshes discovered peer endpoints and expires peers after 10 seconds without discovery traffic.
  • Includes signed ARM and x64 packages in the appxbundle.

Packaging correction:

  • The bundle wrapper is explicitly versioned as 0.1.5.1.
  • The bundle wrapper is signed with the same RetiredLake certificate as v0.1.5.0.
  • The package identity and publisher remain unchanged so v0.1.5.0 can update in place.

Validation:

  • A local Windows install upgraded successfully from the v0.1.5.0 bundle to v0.1.5.1.
  • Repeated real transfers from the installed x64 build to a Windows Phone LiveDrop peer completed successfully, including JPG, WEBP, and PNG files.
  • The Quick Share loopback protocol fixture passed.
  • The outer bundle and nested ARM/x64 package signatures verify with the RetiredLake certificate chain.

LiveDrop v0.1.5.0

Choose a tag to compare

@RetiredLake RetiredLake released this 13 Sep 07:52

LiveDrop 0.1.5.0 is the sending and receiving interoperability hotfix.

  • Received PDFs, images, videos, and other file types use one user-facing destination: Public/Downloads/LiveDrop.
  • Outgoing Quick Share and Microsoft Nearby file reads use partial sequential/ranged streams, avoiding the Windows A method was called at an unexpected time failure from exact-load reads.
  • Quick Share tolerates valid encrypted bandwidth-upgrade control frames, answers keep-alive requests, and keeps interleaved control payloads independent while reassembling them.
  • Quick Share reports the derived security PIN so it can be compared with the other device when the peer requests verification.

The Public Downloads path is preferred. If Windows denies access to it, LiveDrop falls back to the current user's Downloads folder, then to the app's private Downloads/LiveDrop folder so a received transfer is not lost.

Physical Android and Windows peer testing remains recommended for protocol coverage; the signed ARM and x64 packages have passed the local transfer and packaging checks.

LiveDrop v0.1.4.17

Choose a tag to compare

@RetiredLake RetiredLake released this 13 Sep 04:20

LiveDrop 0.1.4.17 is a Quick Share handshake and transfer safety hotfix for local testing.

  • Reuses the production Quick Share session in a loopback smoke fixture and verifies a complete handshake, file receive, and byte-for-byte comparison.
  • Rejects loopback and local-interface routes in Quick Share and Microsoft Nearby adapters, and rejects literal loopback addresses in the shared socket connector.
  • Retains the 0.1.4.16 handling for Android BYTES progress/control payloads and expected setup-frame ordering.

The package is signed with the current RetiredLake store certificate. This build is for local validation only; physical Android and Windows peer testing remains required before publishing a GitHub release.

LiveDrop v0.1.4.16

@RetiredLake RetiredLake released this 13 Sep 03:57

LiveDrop 0.1.4.16 fixes Quick Share interoperability on Windows and Windows 10 Mobile.

  • Handles Quick Share BYTES control payloads, including progress and cancellation, without treating them as file payloads.
  • Waits for the expected paired-key, introduction, and response frames when Android sends an early progress frame.
  • Ignores payload acknowledgements while receiving DATA frames.
  • Keeps the current RetiredLake store certificate and the prior file identity, filename, keep-alive, and safe-disconnect fixes.

The ARM/x64 bundle is signed with the RetiredLake store certificate. Physical Android and Windows peer testing remains required for final interoperability confirmation.
