v1.0.1
Open Video Craft v1.0.0
Open Video Craft 1.0.0 is the first stable release. It brings the complete
local-first screen recording, editing, subtitle, audio, and export workflow
together in one production-ready desktop app.
Important
This stable release intentionally resets the beta 2.x version line to
1.0.0. Existing beta installations may not auto-update to a numerically
lower version. Install v1.0.0 manually once; normal automatic updates resume
with future stable releases.
Highlights
- Redesigned floating recorder with a larger camera preview, the Open Video Craft logo, a clear red record button, and a source picker for all or specific displays.
- Smooth inline subtitle editing for cue text and precise start/end timecodes.
- Readable, millisecond-accurate
MM:SS.mmmsubtitle timestamps. - Blue/cyan Gemini and green Cohere liquid-glass setup prompts.
- Claude Code appears immediately in AI settings while its local CLI status is checked.
- Refreshed launcher, recorder, editor, and timeline screenshots.
Downloads
- Windows: Setup installer or portable x64 executable.
- macOS Apple Silicon: arm64 DMG or ZIP.
- macOS Intel: x64 DMG or ZIP.
The macOS update archives are signed, notarized, and verified by the release
workflow. Windows installers are built and checked by the Windows release job.
