Credentials

Before adding bots, you need to get your own api_id and api_hash and input them in the credential settings. Apply them at https://my.telegram.org/.

Add a bot

Get your bot token from @BotFather, then add the bot with the token string in BotUse Settings.

Note that adding a bot in BotUse will not disturb a running bot instance which is listening updates with long polling.

Switch to a bot

There are two shortcuts to switch to a bot identity in channels or groups:

  1. Click the send-as-chat buton with Alt pressed.
  2. Use the combined shortcut Ctrl+Shift+B.

Not implemented yet

The following things are not implemented in BotUse yet:

  1. Forwarding messages
  2. Sending polls
  3. Manage channels or groups
  4. Edit or delete non-rich messages in channels
  5. Not support normal groups (non-supergroups)

Additionally, receiving or sending private messages will never be implemented, as it is not conform to the original design intent of this feature.

Only for bot feature

When you switched to a bot, right click the message send button and there will be a new toggle option to disable sharing of your message.
