An unofficial macOS desktop distribution of DeepSeek Harness, packaged as an easy-to-install DMG for Apple Silicon Macs.

DSH is open-sourced and maintained by DeepSeek AI. This repository only provides an Electron desktop wrapper and an unofficial macOS distribution. It does not modify DSH's core functionality and is not an official DeepSeek AI release.
DeepSeek Harness (dsh) is currently distributed primarily through npm. Its Web UI can be started with:
npx @deepseek-ai/dsh webThat workflow is convenient for developers, but it requires macOS users to install a compatible Node.js version and launch DSH from a terminal. The upstream repository does not currently provide a downloadable macOS DMG release.
This project fills that distribution gap:
- Bundles the upstream
@deepseek-ai/dshpackage and its runtime, so Node.js is not required. - Starts the DSH Web service and opens it in a native Electron window.
- Listens only on a random
127.0.0.1port and is not exposed to the local network. - Provides a ready-to-install DMG for Apple Silicon (
arm64).

Download the latest DeepSeek-Harness-*-mac-arm64.dmg from Releases, open it, and drag the app into Applications.
The current releases are not signed or notarized with an Apple Developer ID because those capabilities require a paid Apple Developer Program membership. macOS may report that the app is damaged or cannot verify its developer.
After moving the app into Applications, open Terminal and run:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/DeepSeek Harness.app"
open "/Applications/DeepSeek Harness.app"This removes the download quarantine attribute only from this app. It does not disable Gatekeeper system-wide. Do not use this command for software you do not trust, and do not disable Gatekeeper globally with commands such as spctl --master-disable.
You may need to run xattr again after installing a newer, unnotarized release. App data is stored under the standard macOS Application Support directory in DeepSeek Harness/dsh.
- Apple Silicon Mac (
arm64) - macOS 11 or later
The app icon combines the official upstream DeepSeek Harness fish and deepseek vector wordmark with the HARNESS label.
Apple allows development and testing with a free Apple Account and Xcode, but Developer ID distribution and the Notary Service require Apple Developer Program membership. The program currently costs USD 99 per year, or the local equivalent. Eligible nonprofit, educational, and government organizations may request a fee waiver.
This project therefore distributes an unnotarized DMG with a SHA-256 checksum and the app-specific workaround above. Free, self-signed, and ad-hoc certificates are not trusted by Gatekeeper on other Macs and cannot replace official notarization.
For safety, download files only from this repository's Releases page. In Terminal, calculate the DMG checksum with:
cd ~/Downloads
shasum -a 256 DeepSeek-Harness-*-mac-arm64.dmgConfirm that the result matches the value in SHA256SUMS.txt from the same release before installing the app.

前往本仓库的 Releases 下载最新的 DeepSeek-Harness-*-mac-arm64.dmg，打开后将应用拖入 Applications。
当前 Release 没有 Apple Developer ID 签名与公证，因为这两项能力需要付费加入 Apple Developer Program。macOS 可能因此提示“应用已损坏”或“无法验证开发者”。
将应用拖入 Applications 后，打开“终端”，复制并执行下面两行命令：
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/DeepSeek Harness.app"
open "/Applications/DeepSeek Harness.app"该命令只移除这个应用的下载隔离标记，不会关闭系统级 Gatekeeper。不要对不可信应用使用，也不要使用 spctl --master-disable 等命令全局关闭安全检查。
以后每次安装新的未公证版本，都可能需要重新执行一次 xattr。应用数据保存在 macOS 标准的 Application Support 目录下，即 DeepSeek Harness/dsh。
