v1.0.0
First stable release of Reddit Slideshow Spectacular! — turn the old.reddit.com or www.reddit.com feed you're already viewing into a full-screen, keyboard-driven media slideshow. It runs on your own logged-in session (no API keys, no accounts), entirely in your browser. No analytics, no tracking, no ads.
Install
- Chrome / Edge / Brave: Chrome Web Store
- Firefox: in review on AMO — in the meantime grab
…-firefox.zipbelow (about:debugging→ Load Temporary Add-on) or build from source. - Site: https://rio517.github.io/reddit-slideshow-spectacular/
Highlights
- Launch any feed from the toolbar icon or Alt+Shift+S — it starts at the top of the current view, in its own sort.
- Plays direct images, galleries, Reddit-hosted video with audio, Redgifs, Imgur, Streamable, Giphy, Catbox, and crossposts.
- Pages forever (follows Reddit's pagination) and filters reposts, crossposts, and re-uploads with a local perceptual hash.
- Keyboard-driven; upvote/downvote with ↑/↓; download or open the original from the overlay.
- Pop the show out into its own window for AirPlay / Chromecast.
- Tunable live: seconds per slide, transitions, pan & zoom, NSFW, countdown bar.
- Private by design — no developer servers; settings stored locally.
Store-ready zips (Chrome, Firefox, and the AMO sources zip) are attached automatically by CI a few minutes after publish.
