ES-DE Companion v0.7.0-RC1

A follow-up release of the app rebuild. No migration concerns beyond what alpha already introduced — if you're already on 0.7.0-alpha or - 0.7.0-beta, this is a drop-in update; your settings, folders and widget layouts carry over as-is.

If you're coming from the 0.6.x line instead, see the v0.7.0-alpha notes for the full migration rundown (onboarding wizard, three required ES-DE settings, script cleanup, etc.) — everything there still applies.

New

  • App Drawer folders: group apps into named, renameable folders that collapse to a mosaic tile in the grid. Long-press an app → "Add to Folder" to create one or add to an existing one; long-press a folder's tile (in the grid) or its title bar (once open) to rename it. Folder open/close now animates as a shared-element expand from the tile itself. A new "Sort folders on top of apps" toggle (Settings → App Drawer and Dock, on by default) controls whether folders group ahead of ungrouped apps or interleave with them alphabetically.
  • Quit Companion App: a new row at the bottom of the Settings popup closes the app immediately, without needing to wait for ES-DE to quit.
  • Launch ES-DE on Companion App Start: a new opt-in toggle (Settings → Other Settings, off by default) launches ES-DE on the other display as soon as Companion starts — pairs with Companion's own boot auto-start to bring both apps up together with no manual step.
  • Onboarding now also flags ES-DE's DebugSkipInputLogging debug setting if it's on — not a blocker, but it means slide-animation direction can't be detected. Since it isn't in ES-DE's own settings menu, the warning explains it has to be fixed by hand in es_settings.xml.

Improved

  • Settings menu: every category and setting now has an icon in a themed accent square instead of plain text, setting tiles are fully opaque instead of translucent, and a few labels were tightened up ("Widgets" → "Edit Widgets", "During Video Playback" → "Volume During Video Playback", "Lower volume" → "Lower", "Dimmed" → "Dim").
