Motion Input Grid 1.1.0

Start here for a quick introduction and an interactive demo. Open the browser Studio to create or import a configuration without installing anything.

What's new

  • Motion Input Grid Studio: a redesigned editor with contextual movement and trigger settings, direct grid editing, automatic saving, and a movable log panel.
  • Motion Input Grid Controller and Studio use their full product names and the website's visual identity.
  • Browser Studio: mirrored grid/camera views, drawing notes, selection editing, clipboard and history, and clearer feedback while testing.
  • Python wheels have normalized, verified RECORD entries, including Linux ARM64.
  • JavaScript types expose coordinate confidence; all packages use version 1.1.0.
  • Documentation starts with the browser experience and links to the relevant download tables.

Existing JSON profiles remain compatible. The recognition core and C ABI are unchanged from 1.0.2.

Desktop applications

Standalone Controller

Added on 2026-10-15. Create your profile in web Studio, export it, then import it into the Controller. These downloads include the recognition runtime, models, dependencies and licenses; the desktop Studio is not required.

Platform Direct download Size
Windows x64 Download .exe 52.7 MiB
Linux x64 Download .run 62.3 MiB

Windows: run the single EXE. Its embedded runtime is verified and reused under %LOCALAPPDATA%\MotionInputGrid\runtime\<payload-hash>\. No separate Visual C++ runtime installation is required. This standalone build includes the themed import review fix from main commit 22c074d. The existing v1.1.0 tag and other release packages are unchanged.

Linux: allow execution in file properties, or use sh motion-input-grid-1.1.0-controller-linux-x64.run. Requires glibc 2.35+, camera access and an X11 session for keyboard output; Wayland is unsupported. Runtime files are extracted temporarily and removed on normal exit.

Start tracking with keyboard output off, test your gesture, then enable keyboard output and focus your target application. Download and import walkthrough.

Per-file SHA-256 files and the Windows DLL inventory are attached. The release-wide SHA256SUMS and release-manifest.json now include these new assets.

The Windows standalone file icon was corrected on 2026-10-15 using the same MIG icon as the running Controller. Launcher fix 58f72a4. Download the EXE again to get the updated file.

Complete desktop bundle

Includes Motion Input Grid Studio and Motion Input Grid Controller, the camera runtime, models and example configurations.

Platform / package Download Size
Windows x64 Download ZIP 61.1 MiB
Linux x64 Download TAR.GZ 65.2 MiB

Extract the complete archive. Create a configuration in the browser Studio or desktop Studio, export its JSON file, then open it in Controller to map gestures to keyboard actions.

  • Windows: run windows/motion-input-grid-studio.exe or windows/motion-input-grid-controller.exe. If a required Microsoft runtime is missing, install the Visual C++ x64 runtime.
  • Linux: run ./motion-input-grid-studio or ./motion-input-grid-controller. Desktop packages target Ubuntu 22.04 or newer, x64.

Warning

This project is in early development. Windows SmartScreen may not recognize a new executable. Check that the download comes from this repository and verify its checksum before choosing More info → Run anyway.

Be careful when using Controller in competitive games: it produces system input, and an anti-cheat may treat unfamiliar input software as suspicious. Check the game's rules first.
