DhanWert v1.0.1
🌱 DhanWert v1.0.1 — Beta
Personal wealth tracking and long-term financial projection
DhanWert is a desktop app that shows how your wealth could develop over decades. It brings together
income, savings, investments, cash, assets, loans, pension and inflation in one projection, so you can
test your own decisions before you make them.
Understand where you are today. Plan where you want to go. See how your choices could change your future.
⚠️ Please read this first. DhanWert is a personal side project, not a company and not a financial service.
It gives rough estimates from the numbers and assumptions you enter, and it can contain mistakes.
It is not financial, tax, legal or pension advice. Please do not make financial decisions based on it.
📥 Download and first start
🪟 Windows
Download and run DhanWert (installer or ZIP: use the file attached to this release).
Windows may show "Windows protected your PC" because the app is not code-signed yet.
Click More info → Run anyway.
🍎 macOS (Apple Silicon) — TBD
macOS support is currently under testing and is not included in this beta release.
An Apple Silicon build is being prepared and will be released once it has been sufficiently tested.
🔑 Sign-in and your 7-day beta access
- You sign in with Google. DhanWert never sees your Google password.
- Your 7-day beta access starts the first time you sign in. The remaining days are shown at the top of the app
("Beta · 5 days left"). The time is counted on the server, so changing your computer's date does not change it. - When the 7 days are over, the app no longer opens. If you would like more time, tell me in the feedback form.
- Your plan is saved on your computer, privately for your account. Saving snapshots to the cloud is optional.
🚀 Getting started
Open the ⋯ menu → Guided tour. It walks you through the main screens in order:
- Plan setup: date of birth, base date, balances, retirement, tax class
- Salary & Income: your net salary and how it changes
- Pension: public pension and private pension plans
- Investment: monthly contributions and expected return
- Assets: home, rental property, vehicle, other
- Cash Management: living expenses, loans, savings interest
- Database & Sync: cloud snapshots and reports
How calculating works: each section has its own Apply button (faded until you change something).
Applying saves your values. The projection itself only updates when you press Run projection.
The status next to the button tells you when the numbers on screen are out of date.
✨ What DhanWert can do
📊 Wealth projection
A year-by-year projection of net worth, invested value, cash, assets, income and contributions, with
interactive charts, a year slider, hover details and a panel with all values for the selected year,
including savings rate and net savings per month.
💼 Salary and investing
Net salary changes over time, yearly growth, several contribution phases, employer contributions,
one-time investments, capital-gains tax, and a live monthly investment checker.
🏦 Pension (built around German rules, 2026)
- Public pension estimated from your net salary with the German payroll and pension rules, with its own
yearly growth (default: inflation), income tax and health/care insurance. - Date of birth decides your age and when your public pension starts.
- Early retirement switch: stop working earlier (from age 63); the public pension still starts at your regular age.
- Private pension plans: contribution, fees shown as a monthly amount, expected annual return, optional
contribution that follows inflation, payout in retirement taxed like capital gains. - Clear net public, net private and total net pension.
🏠 Assets and loans
House, Rental Property, Vehicle, Other: value over time, running costs, rent, selling costs and tax on a sale.
Link a loan from Cash Management to see the asset's equity and have the loan repaid when you sell.
💶 Cash management
Living expenses with growth, loans and repayments, one-off costs, savings interest on your cash.
📉 Inflation, scenarios and Monte Carlo
- View everything in today's euros or nominal euros.
- Base, Conservative and Optimistic scenarios.
- Monte Carlo simulation shows a range of possible outcomes instead of a single line (a simulation, not a prediction).
🎯 Milestones
Financial independence, retirement, pension start and debt-free year are marked on the chart.
📄 Reports and data
- PDF and web-page reports, and e-mailing a report.
- CSV export of the whole projection.
- Cloud snapshots, undo/redo, dark and light theme, keyboard shortcuts (press F1).
🧪 Known limits of this beta
- Built for Germany (tax class, payroll, pension and capital-gains rules). Other countries are not accurately modelled.
- Not modelled: church tax, other income in retirement, a change of tax class over time.
- The public pension is modelled from January of its start year, and without early or late claiming.
- Only your investments are random in the Monte Carlo. The private pension and asset values follow their expected rates.
- No screenshots of every screen and size have been reviewed yet, so small layout problems are possible.

🔐 Privacy
