ROM Librarian v1.2.1.2
ROM Librarian v1.2.1.2 (With Bugfixes)
New Features
- 7z compression support — Compression tab now supports ZIP and 7z formats via radio button selection, powered entirely by the py7zr Python library (no external tools required)
- Compression tab parity — Archives pane now mirrors the ROMs pane:
- Status column marks archives as "Extracted" when their ROM counterpart exists
- "Delete Extracted Only" button for safe archive cleanup after extraction
- Archive limitation warnings — Added notes to Duplicates and Compare Collections tabs about archives being compared as files, not by ROM content
Improvements
- CHD conversion feedback — Large files (PS2 ISOs etc.) now show file size and time estimate so the app doesn't appear frozen
- Calmer UI messaging — chdman info note changed from orange warning to subtle gray label
- Full Linux CHD support — chdman now bundled in Linux releases (sourced from mame-tools); conversion tab correctly finds it on both platforms
Bug Fixes
- py7zr not bundled in compiled releases — Root cause: GitHub Actions workflow never installed py7zr before building. Fixed workflow for both Windows and Linux
- Linux build using wrong build method — Was using raw CLI flags instead of rom_librarian.spec, meaning none of the hidden imports applied. Fixed to use spec on both platforms
- chdman.exe causing Linux build failure — Spec was unconditionally trying to bundle a .exe. Now conditionally bundles the correct binary per platform
- _find_chdman() Windows-only — Was hardcoded to look for chdman.exe. Now correctly resolves chdman on Linux, handles both source and compiled bundle paths
