Memory Hierarchy
Project: Computer Architecture Topic: Memory hierarchy and storage technologies Tools: GitHub, PowerPoint and
About the Project
In this project, we worked with memory hierarchy in computers. The goal was to explore different storage technologies, explain what they are used for, and compare them based on factors such as speed, capacity and cost.
We examined how different levels of memory work together, from fast CPU registers and cache to RAM and permanent storage. We also looked at modern storage technologies and how they fit into the memory hierarchy.
What I Worked On
Researched different storage technologies and their characteristics.
Worked on explaining the differences in speed, capacity and cost.
Contributed to creating a presentation and an educational video about memory hierarchy.
Used GitHub as a collaboration tool during the project.
What I Learned
I learned how the memory hierarchy helps computers operate efficiently. I gained a better understanding of why computers use different types of memory and how each technology has its own advantages and disadvantages.
