New X-Plane Models for INAV

As I found no one who has experience in building X-Plane models, I started to learn it myself.
This is my first try to get this done. I will add the models here in the Thread.

I tried to get the flight performance, speed range, stall speed and behavior as close to the original AR Wing pro PNP setup as possible.
If someone wants to spend the time to create a proper texture map, feel free. For now it is a dirty looking version of the famous plane.

You joking mate? :D The simulated battery has no effect on the Planes performance. Ramp up the horse power of the model in the plane maker to get more power.

but be careful. adding too much power and getting the prop RPM too high might break physics. make sure you set the physics simulation rate to 10 ticks/frame

No idea. Never used plane maker. Make a faster version. Not a LiIon cruiser 😉

It would be nicer for some tests if there was more power and thrust.

Open Engine Settings here:

Then raise the Power here to 0.60hp. brings it over 200kph. You can try more but keep in mind you might need to retune as well and adjust cruise throttle and stuff. If physics start to glitch you will see either the horizon line wander around like crazy or your altitude goes haywire. try cruise mode at full throttle. If it holds altitude the physics is ok

Cool. I'll have a play. I'll try .70, see if it will stretch to 240 metric speeds, without breaking the physics. That should do what I'm after.

Do you know how to turn off engine sound with zero throttle?
Currently it depends on speed, not on throttle. This is something I would like to fix for FPV Surfwing too.

I will have a look for that. I found something sound related but focused on flight behavior and looking into other stuff later.
The FPV Surfwing have you made that ot where did that come from? It is actually not a wing but a Cub-Style plane made invisible with a wing like decorative model attatched :D

and made minor modifications like enabling electrical engine to allow zero throttle.

yeah check the visible elements tab. then uncheck all the hidden stuff. It is literally a nitro motor Cub-Style plane actually with rudder controls removed. that's why it flies so stable.
That was the reason I wanted to make a proper delta wing. The FX-61 is physically extremely unstable. So this AR Pro mockup is the only delta wing we have to test now.

I'm using XP 11 and INAV 6.0 FP2. I took off from Moffet Field in the SF Bay area and although it is showing 12 sats for GPS, and the lat/lon position on my OSD looks correct, the Home_Position shown on the arming screen and the OSD distance to home are way off ( ~700 miles, almost to Oregon). That sorta breaks RTH...

you have to make sure that you FIRST move your plane to the new location before you arm the first time. if yiu move the location after arming you either need to change the home location mode to each arm, or reboot the FC. only then the correct home position is saved.

FYI this model is not in package currently.
Packare contains FPV Surfwing physics model with a visual model of AR Wing.

The reason why I keep FPV Surfwing physics model is because VR Wing Noob does not work in X-Plane 12 ( crashes game due to small wheels).

My plans are to:

1. change FPV Surfwing to Skywalker X8 (as it's phisics model feels like large plane)
2. include VR Wing Noob as AR Wing PRO after few tweaks (enlage wheels, adjust sounds). Personally I like stabiliyty of FPV Surfwing but Mr.D tells that VR Wing Noob is more close to real life.
3. include some kind of plane with YAW. Zohd Drift maybe.

I just did not find time yet. Model editing in X-Plane editor is time consuming and frustrating.

Update: Just tried it. It appears that Autotune amended my Feedforward settings only, but not P, I or D. It appears to fly better, but I'm not sure 😂

Hi, Just tried it on x plane 12 and matek loaded with inav rc7 (my first hitl attempt. For both models the controls behave wrong. Only control that works seems throttle and elevator. Roll does nothing. Do i need to do anything specific extra in inav configurator ? There on the receiver page my controls work fine for all 4 channels (throttle/yaw/roll/pitch). Set model as flying wing in inav.
Edit for the noob model , yaw also works (controls wheel) so only roll is not moving the elevons.

Got the latest dev version of the plugin (cool now HD OSD, so thanks !!) and got the model to fly enentualy in X-plane 12. Only problem is getting of the ground , but full speed, wiggeling left and right it works untill it topples over then full stick back and fly ;-). Once in the air most stuff seems to work.
