Orion Store 2.2.5 🚀

Meet Orion AI: describe the app you need and it finds the right ones in the catalog, ready to download right in the chat. Build your own color palettes, enjoy a compact dock out of the box, and get proper landscape on Android TV, smarter detection of beta builds and a cleaner compact mode.

Updating from 2.2.0? Install 2.2.5 over your current Orion Store. Your profile, XP, badges and settings come along.

✨ Orion AI

  • Ask for Any App: Tap the little star and say what you need, like "an app to listen to music for free". Orion AI finds the apps in the catalog that fit.
  • Fast, Streaming Replies: Answers start in a second or two and type out as they arrive.
  • Stop Anytime: The send button turns into Stop while a reply is coming in.
  • Get It Right There: Every suggestion has its own Get, Update, Install or Open button, and tapping a card opens the full app page. Back takes you straight to the conversation.
  • Bring Your Own Key: Works with Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude, OpenRouter, Groq, DeepSeek, Mistral or any OpenAI-compatible server. Gemini has a free tier. Your key stays on your device and only goes to the provider you pick.
  • Runs on Your Phone Too: Pick On device to download a model from Hugging Face and chat offline. Orion checks your phone's memory and storage and marks the best model for it, from the tiny SmolLM2 to Phi-4 mini. Downloads resume and keep going in the background.
  • Pick Your Model: Browse the models your key can use, or type one in.
  • Follow-Ups: Ask for something lighter, open source or for your TV and it remembers what it already suggested.
  • A Star You Can Move: The AI button is a small translucent star. Drag it anywhere on screen and it stays there.
  • Expressive Chat: A morphing orb, springy message bubbles, suggestion chips to get started and gentle chimes when you send and get replies.
  • Your Call: Turn the sounds off, or hide the star, in Settings → Interface → Orion AI. The chat stays one tap away there too.

🎨 Make Your Own Palette

  • Palette Maker: Tap Make at the end of the palette row in Settings → Look & feel and pick a primary color with hue and intensity sliders, quick swatches or a hex code.
  • Secondary and Tertiary: Let them match your primary automatically or give each its own color.
  • Soft, Balanced or Vivid: Choose how bold the tones get.
  • Live Preview: See your palette on a slice of Orion in Light, Dusk, Dark and OLED before you save it.
  • Keep Several: Your palettes sit next to the built-in ones. Long-press one to edit or delete it, and they come along in backups.

🧭 Compact Dock by Default

  • Smaller Dock: The floating dock now starts at its compact size, leaving more room for apps. Change it any time in Settings → Look & feel → Dock size.

📦 Orion is Lighter Now

  • Even after implementing more features, I have managed to reduce the size of Orion Store from 9.59MB to just 7.3MB

🐛 Fixes

  • Landscape on Android TV: Orion no longer gets stuck in portrait on TVs and TV boxes, including boxes that don't identify as TVs. Phones still stay portrait, tablets and foldables still rotate.
  • Beta Builds Detected: Apps installed as a separate beta or channel build, like CloudStream's prerelease, now show as installed. Orion reads the real package from every APK it installs and recognizes channel builds such as .prerelease, .beta2 or .nightly installed from anywhere else.
  • Compact Rows Sit Straight: Icons and text on classic rows no longer drift toward the top when compact mode is on, in the store and in ignored updates.
  • Know Orion Clears the Notch: The floating chapter bar and header in the field guide no longer slide under the camera cutout.
  • No More On-Screen Back Buttons: Know Orion closes with your phone's back button or gesture, like everything else.
