Rounds 1.11.1

Choose a tag to compare

@yaetiya yaetiya released this 18 Oct 18:06
  • Opens in a blink. Rounds now shows Home right away instead of a grey placeholder for 3–5 seconds — in testing, launch-to-Home went from about 3.5 s to about 0.6 s. Looking for Claude Code and Node on your Mac now happens in the background, and that check is faster too.
  • If you send a message in the very first second after your first launch, Rounds now waits for Claude Code instead of saying it couldn't find it.
  • Setup now says "Looking for it…" while it checks, instead of briefly flashing "not found".

  • Much faster everywhere. Switching chats, opening Home and scrolling no longer freeze the window — in the same test the stalls went from 8 seconds total (up to 1.1 s each) to a single 0.3 s blip. Long chats only lay out what's on screen, and a streaming answer no longer redraws the whole conversation.
  • Problems → next steps. Rounds now keeps a problem list for each person: what's going on, and under each problem the next steps that address it. Steps are grouped by problem and kept consistent — no duplicates, no steps that contradict each other.
  • One plan, updated everywhere. Filing a document, any chat, a review, or answering a question all update the same plan, following the same rules — and several of them can run at once without stepping on each other.
  • Answer questions right on Home. Your answer is saved instantly; Rounds then updates the plan in the background (it runs as a normal chat you can open).
  • Review re-reads a person's records and brings their plan up to date in one click.
  • Your existing next steps are organized into problems automatically the first time you open this version — one chat shows what was merged or retired and why.
  • In a chat, a Plan updated card shows exactly what changed.

Rounds 1.10.0

@yaetiya yaetiya released this 03 Oct 15:47
  • A calmer, Yab-style window: no more tab bar on top — Home, open documents and every chat live in the sidebar, with back/forward arrows. The page sits as a card next to it.
  • Chats sorted by activity: the chat you (or the AI) touched last is on top; filter the list by person.
  • ⌘K does everything: jump to a recent chat, search all chats, documents and next steps (typos are fine), run a command — or just type a question and press Enter to start a new chat.
  • Rounds menu: click the Rounds name for feedback, what's new, shortcuts, updates and settings.
  • What's new opens once after each update, and updates are announced with a little note at the bottom of the sidebar.

Rounds 1.9.0

@yaetiya yaetiya released this 02 Oct 04:18
  • Chats in the sidebar, grouped by person: every chat is filed under who it's about (detected automatically; right-click → Move to… to change it).
  • Documents on Home: your filed documents now live on Home (group by person, type or date), where Recent chats used to be.
  • Much better search (⌘K): searches the full text of every chat, plus documents (incl. summaries and lab markers) and next steps. Tolerates typos and word endings; results show a snippet with the match in bold.
  • Status dots: a pulsing dot while the AI is working in a chat, and an orange dot when it finished an answer you haven't looked at yet — in the sidebar and on tabs.

Rounds 1.8.0

@yaetiya yaetiya released this 02 Oct 03:53
  • Always-current models: the model list now comes live from your installed Claude Code, so new models (e.g. Opus 5.5, Fable 5.1, Sonnet 5.5) appear automatically. Older versions are in an "Older models" submenu.
  • Effort picker shows only the levels the selected model supports.
  • Your MCP servers work in chat (Full Power): Gmail, Drive, Calendar and anything from claude mcp add now load alongside Rounds' medical sources.
  • Clearer live steps: readable labels for every tool (MCP, commands, files, sub-agents, skills), failed steps shown in red, and a turn's tool steps stay on the answer as a collapsible "Used N tools" block.

Rounds 1.7.0

@yaetiya yaetiya released this 18 Jul 09:22

This release makes Rounds safer and sharper when reasoning about your health.

  • Exact medication dose checks. When you ask "can I take another dose?" for common OTC pain/fever medicines (acetaminophen/paracetamol, ibuprofen, naproxen, aspirin), Rounds now computes the rolling 24-hour total and time to your next safe dose exactly instead of estimating — and flags hidden duplicate ingredients in combination products.
  • More careful clinical reasoning. Screens for dangerous "can't-miss" conditions before settling on the likely cause, and guards against jumping to conclusions too early.
  • Better memory of your history. Facts are kept with who said them and when; current values are separated from past ones, and your own guesses aren't treated as established fact.
  • A wider safety net. The instant red-flag detector now also recognizes possible overdose/poisoning and severe alcohol/sedative withdrawal.
  • Fewer needless refusals of legitimate questions about your own records.

Everything runs locally on your Mac. Documents never leave except as de-identified, concept-only lookups.

Install: download Rounds-1.7.0.dmg, open it, drag Rounds to Applications. Existing users update automatically via the in-app updater.

Onboarding

  • New first screen: Rounds is in Alpha — free and fully open-source. A one-tap Star on GitHub, and a quick checkbox to continue.

Home

  • Next-step cards are now compact, Linear-style rows — the full description opens when you expand a card.
  • Cards are grouped by person (the person with the newest card first), and each group collapses.
  • Mark as resolved (in the expanded card) now reliably clears the card — including when you resolve it from a chat — and fades it out.

Research stage — tune how far past settled medicine Rounds reaches

  • New research-stage control in the composer (Home + chat): a 4-level evidence-maturity slider (Standard of care → Proven → Frontier (default) → Experimental). Global default plus a per-chat override.
  • Every source is now labelled with its maturity (Established / Emerging / Experimental) and a one-line "how much to trust this yet" caution. The sources engine hard-caps which evidence tiers it returns to your selected stage.

Cleaner sources pipeline

  • Sources, alerts, and next-step cards are now delivered via dedicated tool calls instead of JSON embedded in the answer text — so nothing leaks as raw JSON, including over Remote Control on your phone.

Polish

  • Unified input-bar controls; redesigned Sources panel legend with hover explanations; stronger, stage-aware clinical prompts.

Multi-step tasks now show a clean progress timeline — when Rounds files your documents or works out your next steps, each stage appears as a labelled step on a green timeline instead of raw tool output.

⌘+ / ⌘− zoom now also scales the chat itself (your messages, the AI's answers, and the input box), not just the rest of the app.

The Home box always opens a chat now — the old "concerns" symptom tracker was removed.

Finish notifications for chats. Rounds now notifies you when a chat finishes working — but only when you're not already watching it (the app isn't in front, or you're on a different tab). Before, a finished chat turn was silent (only automatic next-steps updates notified). Notifications must be allowed for Rounds in System Settings → Notifications.
