v1.0 — Initial Open Source Release
🎉 Initial Open Source Release
This is the first official public release of the Rowow LLC open-source ion exchange membrane project — a low-cost, homogeneous ion exchange membrane fabricated entirely from off-the-shelf precursors.
What's Included
- Ion-Exchange-Membrane-Diagram.pdf — Visual diagram of the membrane structure and ion transport mechanism
- Manufacturing-Process-Flowchart.docx — Step-by-step manufacturing process flow chart
- Patent.pdf / Patent-Application.docx — Full patent filing and editable application document
- Rowow-LLC-Technical-Volume.pdf — Complete technical volume with formulations, procedures, and results (REDACTED version)
- SEM-Analysis-Results.pdf — Scanning Electron Microscopy analysis results
- SEM-Tech-Presentation.pdf — Technical presentation on SEM characterization methods
- LICENSE — CC0-1.0 Universal Public Domain Dedication
Why This Matters
Commercially available ion exchange membranes (e.g. Nafion) can cost hundreds of dollars per square meter. This open-source design dramatically lowers that barrier, making advanced electrochemistry accessible to small labs, startups, researchers, and DIY builders worldwide.
