v0.2.6 — Session token ID sensor is now opt-in
The Session token ID sensor is now disabled by default. RFID tag IDs authorize charging and, as a state, would otherwise end up in history, the logbook and the recorder database. Enable it in the entity settings if you want it. Existing installations keep the sensor's current enabled state.
The README now leads with searching for "KEBA KeContact P40" in HACS, with the custom repository steps as a fallback.
No changes to charger requests, controls, polling or entity IDs. Tests, hassfest and HACS validation passed.
v0.2.5 — Stable controls and safe HACS upgrades
This release preserves the complete KEBA stability fixes from the reference installation when updating through HACS.
- Fix supported current-profile parsing and numeric current-limit availability.
- Retain per-action control receipts and fresh physical feedback without replaying uncertain commands.
- Preserve passive meter freshness and prevent current-limit acknowledgement races.
- Preserve existing device/config-entry identity, entity IDs, credentials/options and enabled/disabled controls. Add one diagnostic control-result sensor.
Validation: 144 tests passed on Home Assistant 2026.9.4; HACS, hassfest and ruff checks passed. Independent Claude review completed. The driver matches the reference HA 2026.10.1 installation's Python behavior (import formatting/unused exception variable aside), which completed overnight charging. This does not guarantee every charger/vehicle/firmware combination.
Update while charging and session are both off, with a backup and no imminent charging window. Keep the existing integration and fully restart Home Assistant after the HACS download; integration reload alone is insufficient. Verify numeric current limit, existing entities and controller health before the next scheduled charge.
Local EV Smart Charging controllers, helpers, scripts, templates and dashboards are separate and unchanged by this package. Climate/preconditioning is not included. For rollback of a previously patched installation, restore its full pre-update backup: public 0.2.4 lacks these stability fixes.
v0.2.4 — RFID session token sensor
Adds the read-only Session token ID sensor for RFID-based automations using the existing KEBA REST session polling. Opaque tag IDs retain case and leading zeros; attributes identify the session and whether it is active or historical. Missing/invalid IDs become unavailable, never fall back to an earlier session, and are redacted from integration diagnostics. Malformed closure data is treated as inactive.
Existing config entries and entity IDs are preserved. No vehicle mappings, authorization changes, charging-plan changes or control commands are added. This sensor identifies the tag that authorized a session; it is not an instantaneous swipe event or proof of the connected vehicle.
Validation: 116 tests passed locally (98.80% statement coverage), ruff check/format passed, and GitHub Actions tests, official hassfest and HACS validation all passed for commit b8f4ca5:
https://github.com/Rschmidt79/home-assistant-keba-p40/actions/runs/39029013405
Upgrade through HACS, retaining the existing integration/config entry. Back up before upgrading and restart Home Assistant after downloading. Physical charging controls and fresh-swipe vehicle binding remain unverified.
0.2.3 — Documentation and HACS discovery preparation
Adds local integration branding, clearer installation and verification documentation, and full HACS validation without ignored checks. No changes to charger requests, controls, entity identifiers or polling behavior. HACS, hassfest and tests passed before publication: https://github.com/Rschmidt79/home-assistant-keba-p40/actions/runs/37326077542
v0.2.2 — HACS installation and legacy cleanup
First public HACS release of KEBA KeContact P40 local REST integration.
- Preserve 32 monitoring entities and existing unique IDs; four controls remain disabled by default.
- Remove only the 25 exact legacy registry identifiers after successful setup, scoped by config entry, platform and entity domain.
- Fix missing DOMAIN import and keep monitoring active even if optional cleanup fails.
- Migrate legacy entries with implicit admin username and consolidate old options.
- Public fixtures have synthetic device/session identifiers, addresses, counters and timestamps. Private audit/credentials/certificate fingerprints are excluded.
Validation: 98 offline tests passed, ruff/format checks passed, official HA hassfest passed.
Controls are not physically verified; session-preserving pause/resume and phase switching remain deferred. No physical control calls were made.
Installation: add https://github.com/Rschmidt79/home-assistant-keba-p40 to HACS Custom repositories, category Integration. Download v0.2.2 and restart Home Assistant. Keep the existing config entry/device. Back up HA and update old entity references before upgrading. Ensure the old Ich-h4lt HACS repository no longer manages the same domain.
GitHub Actions is now active on main. Tests (98 passed), ruff/formatter, official hassfest and HACS validation all passed: https://github.com/Rschmidt79/home-assistant-keba-p40/actions/runs/37322394542 . Only the brands-catalog check is excluded for this custom repository. CI activation does not change the integration runtime or require reinstalling v0.2.2.
