Welcome to the SteamBuildUploader wiki!
The app is simple to use, setup is only required once.
Follow this guide for the initial configuration.
-
When you first launch the app, you’ll see a Welcome Popup.
You can choose to:-
Hide it indefinitely
-
Show it only when updates are available
-
Or make it appear every time you open the app
The popup also includes the Changelog, so it’s handy to keep it enabled.
-
-
After closing the popup, the main window will appear:

-
Click on Setup — both setup buttons do the same thing.
-
Pressing Setup opens the configuration screen:

-
Set your Content Builder Folder Path, located in your Steam SDK:
SteamSDK > tools > ContentBuilder -
If you already have VDFs and Depots, they’ll appear automatically in the list.
Otherwise, you can create them manually. -
Click Create App, fill in the fields, then click Create Depot.
If the depot doesn’t appear, click the app panel to expand it (it’s foldable).
-
Once finished, click Generate VDFs, then Close.
-
Your created apps will now appear in the main window:

-
To upload builds, you need to set a User Account.
Click the User icon at the bottom-right corner. -
You’ll see the User Setup Window:

-
Enter your Steam username and password.
Your credentials are stored locally only.
You can inspect the source code for confirmation.
-
To save the user, click the Save icon, then Add.
-
After adding, click Select to choose that user.
You can save multiple users and switch between them easily.
-
Select the apps you want to upload by checking their boxes.
The Upload button will become active.
-
Click Upload.
The Output Window will show real-time upload progress and status.
-
Once uploaded, your build is ready!
Go to your Steamworks Admin Dashboard and publish your build as usual.
