Releases: Rynos-PCP/Terra-Git
Release list
Terra-Git 1.0.0
terra-git is a fast, resource-friendly Git desktop client for Windows, macOS and
Linux — built with Tauri 2 and a Rust core, with first-class support for
self-hosted GitLab alongside GitHub and Gitea/Forgejo.
No bundled Chromium: the UI renders in the operating system's own WebView, and
local Git work runs in-process. status takes ~28 ms on 15,000 files and ~87 ms
on 50,000; past 30,000 index entries a system-git fast path takes over.
What's in it
- Staging down to hunks and single lines, with direction-aware partial
patches, image diffs and syntax highlighting for 21 languages. - A conflict workbench that labels both sides with the actual branch names
instead of "ours" and "theirs", takes changes over segment by segment, and
hands off to your external merge tool per file. - A commit workshop for reworking commits you have not pushed yet — reword,
reorder, squash, drop, fix the author — with a backup written before the
rewrite and no force push involved. - Interactive rebase, cherry-pick, revert, squash, and multi-step undo. Every
history rewrite writes a backup ref first, with its own restore view. - A local pipeline cockpit: run the jobs from
.gitlab-ci.ymlor GitHub
Actions on your own machine before you push, with a job graph and a live log. - Pull and merge requests in the app for GitHub (incl. GHES), GitLab (incl.
self-hosted, subpath installations and custom CAs) and Gitea/Forgejo (incl.
Codeberg), with CI status inline. - Worktrees, submodules, sparse checkout, stash management, blame, bisect, a
command palette onCtrl+K, multiple windows, light and dark theme, and
English and German switchable without a restart.
Remote operations run through your system git, so your existing credential
helpers, SSH agents and however many accounts and hosts you already have keep
working. Provider tokens live in the OS keychain and nowhere else.

Download
| Platform | File |
|---|---|
| Windows | .msi or the NSIS .exe |
| macOS | .dmg (Apple Silicon — no Universal build yet) |
| Linux | .AppImage, .deb or .rpm |
Requirements: Git 2.40 or newer on your PATH. On Windows the WebView2
runtime (preinstalled on Windows 11); on Linux WebKitGTK 4.1
(libwebkit2gtk-4.1-0) and GTK 3 (libgtk-3-0); on macOS nothing beyond the OS.
Please read before installing
- The bundles are not code-signed. Windows SmartScreen will call terra-git an
unknown publisher — choose More info → Run anyway. On macOS, Gatekeeper will
block the first launch; open it once via right-click → Open. This is
deliberate for 1.0: there is no budget for certificates and notarization yet,
and it is the first item on the roadmap. - There is no auto-update. New versions are announced here on the releases
page. - Sign-in is by personal access token, not OAuth.
- Hunk staging has a known race. If another program rewrites a file between
the diff being drawn and your click, the hunk that gets applied can differ from
the one you saw. - Linux: on some VMs and GPUs the AppImage comes up as a blank white window.
Start it withWEBKIT_DISABLE_DMABUF_RENDERER=1.
Reporting problems
The version is under Settings → App and in the start screen's footer. Bug
reports go to Issues; anything
security-related belongs in the
private reporting channel,
not in a public issue.
