1 — Download and install

2 — Connect to your PLC
Open Settings → Connections, enter the PLC IP address and credentials. S7 PLC Buddy handles session keep-alive automatically.
3 — Ask the AI Agent
The AI Agent requires an Anthropic API key — create a free account and enter the key once in Settings → AI Agent. Typical diagnostic sessions cost a few cents.

After the trial, the PLC dashboard and data browser remain free. The AI Agent and TIA Portal features require a Pro license.
- PLC data never leaves your plant network. Tag values, diagnostic events, alarm records, and TIA Portal project content are processed entirely on your local machine.
- Your Anthropic API key is encrypted using Windows DPAPI and is never transmitted to our servers.
- AI Agent conversation text is sent to the Anthropic API under your own key. We do not store conversations server-side.
- License validation sends only a machine identifier to our licensing server. No telemetry, no usage tracking.
